Very satisfied with the service. Being able to get an appointment that same day was convenient. Knowing all the things that were wrong with the used vehicle before we purchased helped in the decision process. Will definitely use them again.

If you are looking to save yourself time and money, get an Auto Exam pre-purchase inspection. Great, friendly customer service. My car was inspected only to find frame damage that hadn't been reported by the car dealership OR CarFax. The car was not worth the asking price the dealership was going to charge me. When I found a new (damage free) vehicle Auto Exam inspected it and checked out great! I bought a warranty through Vision Warranty (their sister company) and it ended up saving me over $2,000 on repairs! I'm thankful I had my warranty. Thanks Auto Exam!

I found a truck in the Houston area but was cautious to book the flight and take a chance. I called auto exam and they promptly went out and gave me a very detailed write up and phone call. I appreciated the unbiased set of eyes being on the truck and getting an honest opinion of the quality of the vehicle.

Approximately 45 minutes before my appointment, the dealership called to say the car I wanted had been sold. I called Auto Exam, knowing that the mobile technician was en route, and I also knew that my charge was non refundable if I didn't give an hours notice. To my surprise the associate told me they were going to refund all but $49 of the charge. Everyone I spoke to at Auto Exam was kind, genuine, and professional.

Auto Exam saved me from making a $23,000 mistake. Living out of state and not being able to travel, these guys did a thorough inspection and found things that immediately changed my mind, that was never shared with me from dealership. It is worth spending the money for the inspection.

Did a decent inspection for almost $200 on a used car I bought and I am glad mobile 3rd party vehicle inspection exist. Gave an estimate of cars value and what things were found needing repair. HOWEVER they did not catch that my vehicle was in need of a tune up and had poor gas mileage. Cost me about $650 which I probably would have passed on the car if I had known about that. I do not plan to use them again for car inspection.

Erik with auto exam was awesome, I got star-stuck with the aesthetics of a truck. Good thing I got the truck inspected or I would have been financially committed to a dressed up piece of junk. I was told by the salesman it was a clean vehicle yeah, sure guess clean doesn't mean clean running. The 3 month warranty would not have covered unseen corrosion.

Sure I spent the $169 that was less than 2% of the total amount I would have been responsible to pay. Depending on the down payment? 10.0% don't know about you I work too hard to be throwing my money away. I also got some good advice from Erik, next time I'm going to look a lot closer and do more research. The inspection is a no- brainer for me.

I had a great experience with Scott at Auto Exam. He was thorough and uncovered many hidden little items that a buyer typically wouldn't know to look for including inconsistencies in Carfax etc. I would certainly use Auto Exam in the future if and when purchasing a vehicle in the Houston area. Best money spent! I called and set an appointment for an "in shop" exam. They offer Mobile service too but by bringing the vehicle it allowed me to drive the potential vehicle longer than a test drive. I dealt with Scott which was easy for me to remember. Scott is very knowledgeable and explained everything perfectly. I don't know much about cars but he sure does!

My vehicle had some unknown issues but not major repairs needed. Paintwork was found on a fender and door(not reported), a missing shield on the undercarriage and dryrotted suspension bushings. Scott suggested using this report as leverage to reduce the price, it worked! Thanks Auto Exam. I will looking for my son a vehicle this summer and you will be my 1st call. OUTSTANDING JOB!

Recommend initial car inspection by Auto Exam. Easy and affordable process. Do NOT buy the Vision Warranty. It's not worth it in the long run, particularly when you are attempting to renew it.

I purchased a extended warranty for my SUV through my credit union who recommended this company. I was told on covered parts that needed replacing a rental would be available if service center had to keep the SUV. I have just used the policy and the dealership has to keep my SUV for a couple of days and now I'm being told that I have to rent a car myself then turn in paperwork to be reimbursed which may take a week or two to get. I'm very unhappy because if I would have know this I would have purchased a warranty through a dealership.

I have a ford f-150 and purchased an extended warranty through ford and I needed some work done they provided a rental right on the spot. I was told one thing and when I tried to use this warranty something else happened. Please be aware before you by.

Before purchasing our Tahoe last year we had AUTO EXAM inspect the vehicle. They did an excellent and thorough inspection and provided a list of information. Because of this inspection we felt very comfortable investing in this vehicle. I compare it to hiring someone to inspect a potential home before you make the investment! We now are selling a different vehicle and had Scott go through again and do a thorough inspection.

He provided a detailed list of items pertaining to the car, a car fax document and pictures of the different parts of the car. I would definitely recommend AUTO EXAM to family members and friends. If you want to feel a comfort level before purchasing a car, you need to spend a little money for "peace of mind". We would definitely use them again!

Excellent service on a PPI and very clear communication. While I live in Austin, I found the specific truck that I was looking for in Houston. I needed a thorough inspection done by someone who would really inspect it. Auto Exam gave me very complete information, supplemented with a couple of phone conversations. I would use them again.

The folks at Auto Exam are awesome. This is the 3rd time I've used them for the second used car I've purchased. In every case, they turned up something that we didn't know about. In two cases, it assisted in negotiations and in one case, the car had been so damaged in an accident (undisclosed by Car Fax) that we walked away (actually ran away) from the vehicle.

I had a bad experience with their Service Contract "Money back guarantee". I will never use them again.

My husband and I found a car for sale in Houston and contacted Auto Exam before making the drive from Austin to check out the car. I called Auto Exam after hours and Scott Matejka returned my call first thing the following morning. Unfortunately, they were not going to be open on the Saturday that we were going to drive to look at the car, but Scott asked that I send over the link to the car.

He called me back immediately and noted several red flags regarding the car and dealership. He then proceeded to send me various links of other cars for sale that were similar to the one we found. We ended up buying from an Austin dealership, but in the end, I cannot thank Scott enough for saving us a tank or two in gas, let along possible disappointment. with the car. This place sucks I would not recommend bringing a vehicle over here! I brought my vehicle to get it inspected and they had it for 2 days and have not told me anything about it also they charge me 40 per day for storage. Then when I bought this vehicle because autos and told me that it was a good vehicle! Well it wasn't it turned out to have a few oil leaks and a few other problems a few weeks later

I have used these guys for years---5 vehicles later I'm just writing a review : I was get my vehicles inspected by these guys before I purchase. They have always given prompt service and the diagnosis on my vehicles have been perfect. Ex. I purchased a used Suburban; they told me the a/c was not cooling as well as it should but it should be fine for sometime. 4 years later I had to replace the condenser. It was great to know ahead of time for the same of negotiations & for the sake of knowing you've purchased a good vehicle.

Terrible customer service. I was denied service as I reached at 4.10 for a 4.00 clock appointment. Mechanic at the counter told me that it takes him around 45 minutes to do the inspection and he won't be able to do it as they close at 5.00. When I complained to the owner he just offered apologies but did not do anything to fix the issue and said they wont be able to inspect the car which I was planning to buy that day. It seems they are not really interested in your business and so care less about customer satisfaction.

Auto Exam was very helpful in my used car buying process. They saved me from buying a used car from AutoNation Ford that showed signs of significant engine work (which didn't show up in the CarFax). The dealership tried to convince me that I didn't need an independent inspection since the car was CPO and had low mileage. I was glad I got an inspection! The guys at AutoExam were friendly and very knowledgeable. I priced out a couple of different inspection shops, and Auto Exam seems to be reasonably priced.

This company is top notch! First of all, the staff was very pleasant! Scott, one of the ASE Certified Technicians, was very nice and thorough in his explanation of how they operate. Scott is a stud. No, seriously. I was looking at a car at Texas Auto Online (see review, boo), and I decided to bring it over there for an inspection. He found out that the car had been in an accident (clean CarFax and AutoCheck) and that it had a "severe oil leak." I DEFINITELY recommend bringing the car that you are looking to buy there to be checked out. A buddy of mine in the automotive industry told me that only 20% of car accidents are actually reported to CarFax and AutoCheck. The rest somehow scoot by. Crazy!

I paid for close to a $2,000 policy and they initially covered my first claim. I thought it was a great service until I had a second claim for my vehicle warrantee. The customer service employees were rude and disrespectul to me when I tried to contact them regarding the denial of the claim. I still have to deal with them until my warrantee expires in about 2.8 years. I hope my vehicle does not malfunction as to avoid their awful service. They have received 11 negative comments from the Houston BBB. I was the 12th. This is very telling.
