Made an appointment for an oil change for 9:30 AM. Drive 1 hour to get here since I got 1 free oil change when I bought the car. Was told that it would take 2 hours to change my oil. I have been waiting 2 hours and 45 minutes and still not ready. I suggest better communication when making appointments that it will take this long. Will not be back.

Having been to other Honda dealerships for service, I expected this service would be the same. Upon arrival, no one approached my vehicle to check me in. So, I went inside to check in for my appt. No one acknowledged me so I approached a gentlemen and he was able to point me in the right direction. Once I was with Rosa, my assigned Service Manager, everything went extremely well.
She kept me informed of everything going on with my car service. She was also able to get me a loaner vehicle since my vehicle needed a little extra time. Great service overall.

This is for the sales process: James was amazing to deal with in sales. We talked online about a car I wanted. It wasn't in stock but he presented all the options to be able to get one. When someone backed out of one coming in he made sure to immediately call and see if it would meet my needs. He was straightforward on the pricing. When another dealership that had already did a bait and switch on me once came back with a lower price, James was very polite and said just recommended a phrase to use to confirm the price included everything.
Sure enough the other dealer lied again and James won over my business with that. He communicated the whole time about updates on delivery. Had everything ready to go when we showed up. Price ended up several thousand cheaper than two other Honda dealerships I had sat down with to start a contract with. James was very efficient and great to work with.
We were handed off to Gabe in finance. Surprised once again to be able to see their relationship with other lenders allowed us to get a lower interest rate than we had planned on. Gabe did a great job of laying out all the options of extra services for us. Definitely had a great experience with this dealership.

Been working with Craig and JC the last 2 days, and they both have been exceptional! We were looking for a second car after moving from SF and definitely felt the Southern hospitality. We even left and went to a couple other spots to see what options were out there, and not only were we disappointed with car selection, but mostly with the customer service received vs at Gunn Honda! Also, if you're reading this and deciding between different Hondas to go to, DO NOT go to Hill Country Honda!
They are rude, condescending and shady. Go see Craig at Gunn! After our experience elsewhere, we called Craig telling him we were coming back to him. This was one of the best experiences we've had buying a vehicle. Craig from the get go was on it, and the sales team and finance person Patrick got the deal done in no time. I also want to thank the other sales person that worked with Craig to help us. I had an appointment at 8:15am last Friday and I can truthfully say, Gunn Honda has the absolute best customer service out of any other car dealership that I have been too, and that's a lot, as I am an Air Force veteran and lived all over the world. They get you in and out and keep you informed the entire time your car is being serviced. I can't say it enough, experience Gunn for yourself, they are the best. They have a shuttle they offer rides to their customers, not to mention extremely low prices compared to competitors for their services.

I called ahead my visit and they were very friendly and helpful letting me know where to go when I arrive to get my car battery checked out. Once I got to Gunn Honda I meet with Adam who was super helpful informing me and walking me through if buy a new battery and the replacement process. He was cool and understand with my battery situation since it has dead on me a few times in a week. He also let me know that I need a alignment since it was off pretty bad so I appreciate his help deeply and recommend asking for Adam's help!

First time at this location and took about 3 hours to get a routine oil change and transmission fluid. It was a bit long, but a really nice maintenance guy offered me a lounge chair from his shop to make the waiting worth it. My maintenance man, John, was really great and I asked him about getting an appraisal since I'm looking to buy a new car sooner rather than later.
He handed me over to a friendly gentleman, Dason Moore, who was polite and helped me get some more info about cars available. The appraisal part took another hour which I was expecting only like 20-30 minutes. Still an overall good experience!

My vehicle was way overdue for a state inspection. I called Gunn Honda and spoke with Joe who encouraged me to come in for the service, even recommending their Express Lane. Upon arrival I was greeted by Chad Ward who wrote the ticket and assured me the inspection would be done quickly. The facility is always orderly and grounds are well kept. Shortly after a visit with another Gunn customer, my car was ready just like Chad promised. Went to Gunn Honda today because I got a flat in my 2021 CRV with less than 4k miles. I called the Gunn service department and they told me I could bring it in without an appointment. When I got there Dennis told me it would take an hour and a half to get fixed and that's exactly how long it took. Dennis contacted the company I have road hazard coverage with through my lease and he was able to get me a brand new tire through them for free.

Went in to "REPLACE" a windshield after it had been cracked by a small chip covered by warranty. After waiting several months, no update, no curtesy call from the service advisor was given. I personally had to drive up there and light a fire on their incompetent management staff to get the work half assed. They REPAIRED it after being told it was a REPLACEMENT.
Terrible work. Ok, Donny Penn nowhere in sight.neither their director, lunch is more important. Talked to the shop foreman, this man has his head so far up his arse he didn't even know the repair was done. great job guys. Oh, y'all need a no stars option for customer service.

I dropped off my car to get a oil change and inspection for my 2016 Honda hrv by Robert. A I took the shuttle back home and walked back when it was ready. He was going over pricing on "things that need to be done" because it wasn't in their system but I told him I've only had the car for 1 year and everything has been taken care of from the dealership at Audi.
He did mention that my battery failed the test but didn't go into detail. he just asked if I wanted to get it taken care of. At the time I was just thinking that they wanted to make money off of me because again. Everything in the car was taken care of. I just got a battery put in my car exactly one year ago. So I told him no and explained why I didn't want to.
I called Audi to see if the battery has warranty so they can replace it. turns of they bought it from o'riley with no warranty and the battery could only last 1-3 years depending. So I went back later that evening and Adam. B helped me this time- I told him that I was coming back to get my battery changed because I wanted the warranty. He took the car back and minutes later came back and told me other news.
One including my starter was giving out and they needed to replace that asap (warranty covered) the other was that my battery terminal wasn't connected properly. Adam explained everything more clear than Robert. I definitely walked out feeling very pleased with the service that he provided!

I want to share about my horrible experience and a great experience I had when I went to two different Honda dealerships this past weekend. I had been in search of a Honda Civic, so I called Hill Country Honda on Thursday, spoke to a salesman and told it's available, so I made an appointment to come see on Friday. When I get there on Friday, September 24, 2021, salesman Chris Barron and his manager try to sell me a car that I did not ask for, keep asking what other dealerships are offering and refuse to tell me price of car.
I asked price on two cars because price is a point for me as I know I want a Honda. I walked out of Hill Country Honda dealership and called JC at Gunn Honda. So I went to try and get a new car, had a dealer come out and introduced himself told him what I wanted, of course my credit was shot, I had family to help and he mad it seem like ur credit had to be in excellent shape to even get in a Honda and after all that no non sense that he tells me he turns around and says WELL THANK YOU FOR COMING OUT, don't WANNA WASTE ANY of ur TIME BUT WE WILL CALL YOU after we get a deal, here we are Monday and no one called so I'm not good enough to get a deal! What the hell Gunn, that was bad service!

Purchased my Infiniti QX80 from here July 2021. Worked with "Vepo" and he was great. I put in an inquiry online on the car, he called within minutes, he offered to bring car to my side of town (25minutes away, unfortunately not offered anymore due to their new covid policy), he allowed me to keep car over night (I drove him back to dealership) to have my mechanic take look at it the next morning. Passed with flying colors.
But there was an issue with the washer fluid light. I purchased the car and Vepo kept his word and had the washer fluid sensor replaced and fixed other minor cosmetic issues I requested. It was a pleasure working with Vepo, therefor making it easy to get a car I love from this dealership. I would return to Gunn dealerships and especially work with Vepo again.

This review is for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT: - Background - Scheduled an "A-1" service and an annual vehicle inspection for a Honda Civic Si. This is basically a full synthetic oil/filter change and tire rotation with the annual state inspection. This was my FIRST service for this car and my FIRST service appointment of any kind at Gunn. - Scheduling Process (5 stars)- Gunn has an online scheduling tool that is VERY GOOD.
You just build a profile for yourself / car and it will tell you what you need. I also really appreciated that all the prices are just listed with exactly what you receive with that service. This is the best I have ever seen from a dealer. - Personnel (5 Stars)- I arrived about 6 minutes early and waited just a few minutes. Overall was not crazy busy but seemed steady. Manny was very professional and promptly checked me in at my specified time.
He had all paperwork at his fingertips and my appointment was clearly identified and exactly as expected. - Timing (1-2 Stars) - This is where the wheels come off a bit. I had read reviews and been down this kind of before but sitting through it is painful. A fairly simple oil change and tire rotation took exactly two hours and 10 minutes. Considering I JUST had my wife's car serviced a decent quicker lube place that took no time at all. I'll leave it to the internet to debate dealer vs. quick lube places but the reality is this is a quick job.
I had an appointment scheduled and would have thought an hour more than appropriate. It didn't appear to be overly busy on top so was a bit confusing what took so long. - Pricing (4 Stars) - Again all prices are published on the scheduling website. For me a full synthetic oil change with filter, tire rotation, and inspection all came out to just about $86 total.
I felt that was pretty competitive to other places, so the only real cost here is your time. - SUMMARY - A very good, clear scheduling and pricing process that is supported by professional personnel BUT is held back by VERY LONG and seemingly unexplainable wait times. I will likely go again but will factor in the long time frame better next time. On a separate note, I purchased this car a year ago at Gunn Honda.

Tony Decena, the sales manager rocks. "Z" the sales rep is also great! Tony said he's the best and he really took care of us. The first time we came in we were actually endorsed to the new sales rep of the month, we didn't even care to remember his name we threw away his business card. He Was useless and very impersonal! My cousin told him we were just looking and not planning to buy a car yet.
So he didn't even try to take care of us and possibly convince us to buy. But Tony actually approach us when we were inside the showroom looking at the CRV. He introduced himself and I remember him me before when he used to work at finance. We ended up deciding to buy a 2020 Hybrid CRV. Tony helped us decide, he endorsed us to Z and he really was warm and personable. That new rep of the month was useless and do not really deserve his award. Although they are not working for commissions that's his loss!

Worst service I have ever experienced! My daughter and I have had nothing but problems with them and today, when I talked to the service manager and told him how much they "SUCKED", he says "Then I guess we have nothing left to talk about". Really? WOW! Thanks GUNN! YOU REALLY DO SUCK! Never again will I or my daughter buy a car from GUNN! They're real quick to sell you a car and an extended warranty, but when it comes to service, ur on ur own!

The sale guy was professional and very knowledgeable. We traded in our current car and got financing figured out through their team as well. It was a breeze and less than 2.5 hours later, we drive off in our new car!

Gunn honda only cares for you until they sell you the car under their "one price policy". Once that is done, their service will remain good for maybe a month but after that, it will go down the drain. I had a chance to speak to their GM once and the guy is useless absolutely does not care at all. The service quotes are completely off and they will give you random prices. I first bought my car brand new Dec 2007 and since then their service, etiquette, and demeanor has kept going down. Do yourself a favor, take your business elsewhere.

Gunn Honda used to be the premier Honda dealer in San Antonio. Not anymore. Its facilities are outdated, especially the service center waiting facilities. So this review is going to be confined specifically to the service department as I haven't purchased a vehicle from Gunn Honda in years. But, I take my Honda to get serviced there regularly. Let's get the easy stuff out of the way first. It's a dealer and for many service-related items, you're gonna get screwed. Ahem.
I mean pay the dealer tax (but I like the idea of Honda techs working on my car which is why I go to the dealership). For instance, I'm having my serpentine belt looked at and they're about to charge me $300 for that ish when a fairer price would probably be in the $200-250 range. For oil changes, they charge me around $80ish. When I take my car elsewhere, it's in the $70s so that's fair. It's synthetic.
They advised me that I would soon need to replace the spark plugs on my car for.$300. I literally laughed in the adviser's face. Not in a snide way but incredulously. That's like the easiest thing to change on the car--even in a Honda--so long as you can measure the gap and you have appropriate tools. Seriously, they're nuts. But what can you do?
But to be fair to Gunn, I've never had a real reason to complain about the quality of service the technicians provide. Yet. One cool thing about this place is that they have an "Express Lane" for oil changes where you basically drive up, speak with an adviser, and wait for 1-2 hours for an oil change. No joke. The only thing Express about the process is the quick way they'll take your car and make you wait in the hot Texas sun for hours.
That brings me to the real reason I wanted to do this review. Their customer waiting area is straight up bad. It's one *small* waiting room with a handful of seats that are *always* occupied no matter what time you come or how early. That means you'll most likely have to wait *outside* in the Texas heat. Currently it's August 1 at 10:30 am and 90 degrees.
They have three tables with umbrellas (as if an umbrella is gonna protect you from Texas humidity) outside which are always occupied. There are a couple of benches without overhead cover. I wonder what happens when it rains? I suspect people cram into that crappy waiting area like sardines. The WiFi is meh but not terrible if you need to work--good luck finding an outlet though.
They need to remodel their service waiting area. Quickly. I wish Honda would send out surveys about dealership service waiting areas like they do for the new car buying experience. I guarantee if they did that (because that survey is tied to kickbacks for the dealership from Honda), there would be a world-class waiting area instead of a zoo-like pen for their customers.
One only need to go to another Honda dealership to see how different their approach to (non-new car buying) customers are. Night and day. I dread getting my car serviced here when the other newer and more spacious customer-centered Hill Country Honda facility can not accommodate my scheduling needs. Indeed, the only reason I went to Gunn is because the word is out and Hill Country Honda service appoints were all booked for weeks. Ugh. Melting in the sun as I write this. Pray for me.

It's one *small* waiting room with a handful of seats that are *always* occupied no matter what time you come or how early. That means you'll most likely have to wait *outside* in the Texas heat. Currently it's August 1 at 10:30 am and 90 degrees.
They have three tables with umbrellas (as if an umbrella is gonna protect you from Texas humidity) outside which are always occupied. There are a couple of benches without overhead cover. I wonder what happens when it rains? I suspect people cram into that crappy waiting area like sardines. The WiFi is meh but not terrible if you need to work--good luck finding an outlet though.
They need to remodel their service waiting area. Quickly. I wish Honda would send out surveys about dealership service waiting areas like they do for the new car buying experience. I guarantee if they did that (because that survey is tied to kickbacks for the dealership from Honda), there would be a world-class waiting area instead of a zoo-like pen for their customers.
One only need to go to another Honda dealership to see how different their approach to (non-new car buying) customers are. Night and day. I dread getting my car serviced here when the other newer and more spacious customer-centered Hill Country Honda facility can not accommodate my scheduling needs. Indeed, the only reason I went to Gunn is because the word is out and Hill Country Honda service appoints were all booked for weeks. Ugh. Melting in the sun as I write this. Pray for me.
