Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value My insurance company referred Joel Confer's to me for collision repair and I've haven't heard a lot good about them, I'd rather go elsewhere, sorry to say

Whenever I purchased a Toyota I asked Joel Confer for a quote and they were never forthcoming. Thus I purchased my cars in Dubois and Altoona. Since I live in SC, I get my new cars serviced at Joel Confer (as long as the work is covered by Toyota). You walk into a cold and empty-feeling showroom with antique cars and walk to the service desk. They have been friendly.

When you pick up the car you have to go to the cashier who knows nothing about cars or any details about the work performed, and if you have any specific questions, you need to stand in the service line again. Today one parts person was very helpful and the other was useless.

The body shop did excellent work on my Toyota Camry. There was a recall on bad paint, and they did an excellent job repairing. I would recommend them. Service: Painting

They wouldn't even give me a quote. I made a appointment to get one of the three quotes for the damage on my car and when I got there I was told they can't do a quote unless where getting the work done but they're scheduling into February so why did you schedule me for a quote in October!

I got my BMW inspected on 11/30/20, and they told me I had break light issues when I did not have any issues before. Then I get my car back the next day and the bulb light was on my dashboard even though it was not on before I took my car in to get inspected. I immediately called them to ask about it and they sent me to voicemail. I left a voicemail and it has been 2 days and they still have not contacted me.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND JOEL CONFER DEALERSIHP. They take advantage of you and try to screw you over to get more money in their pockets. Joel Confer dealership is very inhumane and pratice unethical business.

There are still awesome people in this world. I was in a car accident 4 hours away from home. I called and spoke with Jared at the Body Shop. No surprise to me, they were booked out for quite some time. I explained that my front end was damaged and rubbing my tire. He offered to look at it and see if it was road safe to get me home. As soon as I got there Jared jumped to the rescue.

With the help of a bar, zip ties, and tape he made my car driveable so I could get home. I only wish I could find service like this in my hometown. I hope his employer realizes what an outstanding person Jared is representing the organization.

I hit a deer on my way to state college was recommended this shop by the local honda dealership. I'm from hagerstown Maryland 2.5 hours away. It took nearly a month to fix my car dates changed 2 times due to parts holds which is understandable. What isn't is when i picked up my car after fixing the radiator condenser and multiple other front end parts totaling over 3k in damage I finally am able to pick up my car.

Thank goodness i needed gas to get home because there was no coolant in my car. It almost over heated in the gas station. there's no telling how many times the car was started or moved without coolant. This is super unprofessional you need to drain coolant to replace a radiator basic car knowledge this could have destroyed my vehicle; there is no telling what damage was done as you would have to tear the engine apart to verify.

Excellent experience with recent lease of a Toyota Sienna. Michael was an excellent salesman. Friendly, no pressure, helpful, and efficient. We test drove a brand new Sienna with only 1 mile on the odometer on Friday and brought it home Monday. Financing was easy and everyone was very helpful. We are incredibly happy with our experience

Honest place! I went to two other body shops who told me I had to replace bumper because of a dent. So for several years I drove around with a dent rather then pay 800 dollars for cosmetics. I went in to confer for a broken mirror and while there, asked about the dent. He said they could heat it and get it out for 100 dollars. I was happy with the quality, service, shuttle and honesty. Come to think of it, he saved me money on the mirror too. It wasn't as damaged as I thought.

We tried very hard to give them over $40,000 for a car that we were interested in buying. I couldn't beg, borrow, or steal to get someone to call me back about it. After waiting for a phone call for over 2 weeks, I went to the website. I submitted a form to get more information about the car that I was interested in purchasing. More than a week after submitting my request, I got a call.

The salesperson explained to me that they didn't have the model I was looking to buy on the lot but that he was going to locate it and call me back. I never heard back from him. I have since bought the new car that I was trying to buy from Confer from a neighboring Toyota dealership. We also have a Toyota that is a lease that we take to Confer for service.

The gentlemen who greet you are very nice but the process leading up to the appointment is grueling. I have to call at least 2-3x to make the appointment every time. I regularly have to leave a message but don't get a call back and have to call them back. Its 2018, why can't I make a service appointment online?

Service and detailing are always friendly and professional! Today, when I asked the Cashier for clarification on my bill, she was outright rude. Maybe I didn't phrase my questioning the right way. She sighed, picked up the phone, slammed it down, walked over to service, all seemingly pissed off. Service came over and went over it with me. I thanked him and said everything looks fine. The cashier kind of said something general but no apology for making me feel like crap for asking about my $700 bill.

I was at my cabin near State College, and because there are no close BMW dealers near me, I wanted to test drive. I have purchased an Infiniti that was hours from my house so don't care about the distance. We first stopped and test drove a Mercedes on Rt. 26 and the salesman and dealership could not have been nicer. We test drove the GLA (which will prob be my next car) and while I was not buying some E-class that was $95,000 they were more than happy to let me sit in and show chat with me about it. Knowing I was just dream shopping.

Even talked to me about the $600,000 (yes that is correct) Mclaren car that was there. When we went to test drive the BMW X1 and wanted to look at the BMW i3 electric just out of curiosity, There was one busy younger guy there who was about to deliver a car. He asked nicely if I could come back in an hour and half. I did, At which point the owner asked me some questions, and seemed busy.

So after 15 mins (still never saw inside a car.) He put me with a salesman. I was put in a grueling interview process about what (this will be my interpretation of what I was hearing) made me think I had an interest in BMW's. And why would I be interested in such vastly diff cars like the X1 and i3. The condescension in the air could be cut with a knife. 10 mins or so into the interrogation I was asked what I currently drive.

I said I drive a 2014 ATS 2.0 turbo AWD at which point I was asked what that was, he had no concept of the car. I explained it was a Cadillac. About another 10 to 15 mins in he wanted to walk outside and look at my car. 5 mins later I decided to just leave and he was on his phone. I made a polite reason why we were leaving, cause I wanted to go off the chain.

He explained that he was on the phone trying to find out where a used X1 was that he was trying to find for me to test drive. I suppose I was not giving the air of someone who should test drive his new cars. Even though the X1 cost less than my current car. But by the way, who cares if I drove in in a one year old Caddy or a 7 year old Ford. Had I not been window shopping and actually ready that day to buy a car, I'd have walked before dealing with them. Had I not liked the Mercedes so much, and still really wanted or want the BMW. I'll be driving toward Annapolis MD which is about the same distance from my house as State College to purchase my BMW.

On my way out of town I stopped just to look at the sticker price of a Audi SUV and did not even want to test drive that day, and the sales women came out I explained did not want to bother her, I was just peeking, and she could not have been nicer and asked me if not today, she hopes I stop back soon to test drive. I buy a new car about every 2 years and I am all over the map. From a WRX pocket rocket to a Honda Pilot SUV. Ugh. It was a very bad experience.

There isn't any service after the sale here. Bought a used certified Toyota from them and had made two appointments for service. Told them I would pick the car up after I was done with work. So I get done with work and go to pick up my car after being at work for 9 hours and they told me that they haven't had the chance to even look at the car.

My car was in the same parking spot for 9 hours at their dealership even though they told me that they would have the car serviced before I was done with work. Then they had the nerve to ask if I wanted to reschedule. Of course I said no, after being burned by them twice who could blame me. Ended up taking the car to another Toyota dealership.

I'm no stranger to Toyotas and it was time for a new one. Confer is right around the corner and since these days, you marry the dealer when you buy the car, I figured it was good to live close. My sales associate, Mr. King was easy to deal with. He knew the cars, knew the features and made the transaction as painless one can given the size of the investment.

There was no pressure. I'm pleased with the car, pleased with the way my wife and I were treated and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place should someone ask me. I wish the service dept. would open on Saturdays.

I bought an SUV from Confer Toyota in State College, over two years ago, and I can still feel the bitter aftertaste in my mouth. The car salesmen are a bunch of white, middle-aged frat boys (all of them were men when we were there). I never felt treated with so much disrespect in my entire life. There I was, a university professor who was buying a $40,000 vehicle and paying in cash, and, still, I caught these immature men making distasteful comments behind my back, because I was born outside this country. Was my accent so funny? Was my ethnicity so contemptible for them?

In 25 years in the US, this is the first time I caught people, adult men, laughing and joking behind my back because of my ethnicity. I would really never go back there. The salesmen who work at this Confer Toyota are absolutely appalling, beyond the pale.

Couldn't even get a appointment there. I was trying to call to make a appointment, put me on hold three times, each one for 10 mins. They kept asking me what I was saying because they weren't even listening to the phone, I repeated a same sentence three times. Horrible costumer service, not polite at all, treated me like shit. They made me really mad.

Worst dealership experience I've ever had. They made it very clear that they didn't have time for someone looking at a used $30k BMW. If you are looking at spending $70k on a new one then maybe they have a different attitude. Amazingly rude.
