Love taking my cars there. They are reasonably priced and honest. I even take my ford f-150 for oil changes. I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe and have a emissions sensor stuck open, they diagnosed and told me it's just a error and the car is fine or I could spend 2,000 to replace it or just leave it be. The mechanic said i could spend the money or just ignore the light.

Took my car in for a warranty repair to which I was told they would have it for a day. It was almost a week and I didn't have my car or a rental. Basically was told I'm on my own. Took calling the service manager Joe and getting into a yelling match with him to finally get a rental. Go to pick up my car once it's done and magically have a loose tie rod and broken adjuster.
My car had no issues other than the engine knocking which was the only thing noted on paperwork. How does a car go in with no problems and come out with two? And now I have to pay out of pocket for their mistakes. Spoke to manager again and he is awful. I would never want him to be in charge of any business. He is rude and unprofessional and basically told me it's my fault. I will never recommend them or use them again.

My Kia's engine locked up and we found out that there had been a recall. Took it here to have it fixed. Before it locked up and had to bring it here we had nice cold AC. When we got the car back the mechanic said we had a sensor missing. Little did we know at the time that it actually holds in the refrigerant. We cannot buy the part except for at the dealership we have tried.
My question is how did we have air before and not now. I feel like they left it off on purpose! I don't have a lot of money and now my grandson has to ride in a hot car All because they didn't put the part back on the car. I have another recall, but I will drive to a farther location and hope they don't do the same. So this is a warning to others beware of the service department they will not do right by you!

35 minutes ago My wife Brought her car in for an airbag light which turned out to be a steering sensor and a seat sensor When my car was returned her stairwell was Crooked and I had a check engine light on I proceeded to bring it back To find out that the check engine light was the upper and lower 02 sensor 02 sensors were just replaced last year I took it to another mechanic shop To find out that they are not bad and Somebody must unplugged them but kia wanted to replace them with a high bill Not knowing any better my wife was going to have it done So be aware to the elderly And the women out there They maybe take advantage of you On jobs that they are doing for you

I take back everything positive I've said about Nielsen Kia. I bought a used 2016 Kia Optima EX and brought it here for service. I'm having engine and transmission issues and I called them back and they told me to call Kia directly. I called Kia directly, and was told the dealer had to initiate warranty procedures. I explained to Kia that the dealer told me to call in.
I was informed this was not proper protocol and as a Courtesy, Kia arranged for warranty inspection at Southlake Kia in Merrillville. Slams into 2nd gear, blue smoke at start up. Maybe if Nielsen sees this review, they will be prompted to not pass the buck.

Please do not walk into this business. My lease was ending, so I went to this dealership to purchase the car. The deal they offered me was insulting, so they said they could do better but their guy was off that day so they'd call me tomorrow, yadda yadda. Whatever. So I called them back during the week. Four times. They actually offered me a WORSE deal, and I knew that what they were doing was running the time out on my lease so I'd have to take their offer.
But I knew I could do better, and I found a better offer, but when the better dealership called for the payoff on my car, the finance company was told that Nielsen already put through paperwork that claimed they TOOK POSSESSION OF MY CAR! The nerve of these people! So I got hung up a few more days while they had to work out releasing all that mess. These people are liars and crooks and I will definitely be pursuing a report to the BBB, as well as a possible lawsuit against this dealership.

Don't go to Nielsen Hyundai unless you know alot about the car you are looking for and don't care about customer service. I purchased a car from here recently and the salesman knew nothing about the cars i wanted to check out ( and he wasn't new) and the customer service is horrible- you can't get anyone on the phone when you call there- not even the General manager ( Mike) It is ridiculous. I am still trying to get an issue resolved.! I don't want anyone else to have to deal with the ridiculousness I am dealing with. Shouldn't even get one star.
