We started off as an offshoot from our parent company LA Freightliner, a large heavy duty truck dealership which is part of Daimler NA (which owns the Thomas Built Buses brand) in an attempt to take our heavy duty experience to the school bus market. We quickly climbed the ranks in the bus industry as we introduced the Thomas Built Bus brand to all the school districts in California, Nevada and Hawaii.
We will find the right bus to meet all your specific requirements. From the largest to the smallest, wheelchair access/ADA compliant and more, all of our school buses are rigorously tested to make sure they meet or exceed all Federal and State safety standards. With multiple warehouses full of parts across California, Arizona and Nevada, we can get you just about any vehicle part in a day. We have a shuttle delivery system in place to handle local deliveries for free. If you prefer you can pick up your order from any warehouse, or any combination of warehouses to be shipped from closest the location.

Their web site is nice & well laid out, but for some strange reason, they don't list prices. Just a button to request price. Upon requesting a price, I was met with this email. "Pricing depends upon what you will be using the bus for. Any information on our equipment need to be handled by a phone call" I found that VERY odd, many red flags, so I asked "Do you mean "pricing depends on the different ways we can prepare the vehicle for you"?
And I was met with "Sorry to confuse you. In my decades of selling school buses, a key thing to remember is a good deals get better and a bad deals get worse. With your response to my email I believe any deal between yourself and BusWest would go in a direction I prefer not to experience" So. Ask an innocent question, to a TRULY bizarre statement "we're gonna charge you more depending on what you want to do with it", and you get the virtual door slammed in your face.
I don't know why 1) the variable price 2) the rude response to asking about #1 Yes, a business has every right to choose their customer - i never thought 'buyer beware' would be just cause.
