Update: I returned my vehicle to Duncan and they diagnosed the gurgling problem to a faulty fan. The problem has been fixed and they credited my initial $240 diagnostic fees toward the cost of labor to replace fan. They've always been very pleasant to deal with even after my nasty review. I will use them again. I had my car towed to Duncan bc they were AAA certified.
I called to make an appointment a week in advance. They are very busy. After my car was on the tow truck on it's way I called to confirm and give a little more detail of it's intermittent starting and overheating issues. I was then informed it would be $100+ for each diagnosis. Granted it wasn't 7AM, probably closer to 10AM. I was informed they wouldn't be able to look at it until the following evening, no problem.
When we spoke the next afternoon they had a long list of future repairs I was going to need, but the overheating was blamed on a cracked seal in the radiator cap and being low on coolant. They fixed those for $24 each. Car was overheating by the time I reached my next stop a mile at most away. I believe it had something to do with the electrical problem.
The starting issues were blamed on an aftermarket alarm system that came with the car, never worked. Suggested I take it to someone that installs stereos to have it removed. I paid my $266 and took it immediately to Pacific Audio. The next morning I was informed the only problem was a broken battery terminal cable. The 2 halves were barely making contact under the rubber insulation.
The alarm had nothing to do with it, however I had them remove it anyway. I was charged $50 and no further issues. I will be reporting Duncan to AAA and complaining that AAA had sold me a new battery 2 months prior when the same starting issue began and assured me they had checked starting system and it was definitely the battery. Having a new battery doesn't bother me, but not discovering the cable was bad does. I have never felt strongly against a service enough to write a negative review in my life. I love to write good reviews.

Review is not for services performed, but service provided. I called towards the end of the day for a last minute smog. They were unable to accommodate since they didn't have a tech in, but she was more than willing but actually offered to call another place. She got back with their hours, and told me they price match. Who does this? This is absolutely superior service! Brittany is a rock star in customer service. Just a phone call has got my business, even if they weren't able to smog me today.

I recently took my daughter's Honda Civic to have brake fluid flush and diagnose problem with the a/c that's not working. The service writers and mechanics are top notch. They quickly fixed everything and even put a loaner battery in the car until we can get another battery from the supplier under warranty. I highly recommend Duncan's Automotive for all you service needs!
