The Washington State Independent Auto Dealers Association (WSIADA) was formed in 1953 by a group of auto dealers who wanted to ensure a strong industry. Since then, WSIADA has evolved into an influential coalition of more than 740 independent auto dealers that's directed by a board of elected peers.
Headquartered in Auburn, Washington, WSIADA is organized into seven regional chapters, each headed by an elected Chapter President. WSIADA's primary missions, advocacy and education, are supplemented by its offering of numerous high-quality products and programs like the Auction Discount Program, all designed by and for independent dealers, that aim to improve the independent dealer's bottom line.

The Washington State Independent Auto Dealers Association (WSIADA) was formed in 1953 by a group of independent auto dealers who wanted to create a better industry. It was not until 1956 that the association had grown to include 150 members that the board of directors was created. The first known officers of the association were Don Medley, Sr. (Tacoma), Ab Pearson (Everett), James Mercer (Seattle) and Claude Laycock.
Your involvement matters to our industry. You are at the center of the Independent Auto Dealers EcoSystem. With your input and direction, we lobby on your behalf, develop programs to aid your success and keep independent dealers a strong force both here in Washington and across the nation. Mac Ruddell was born into a dealership family in Port Angeles, Washington, working for his father until he was able to purchase land to start his own dealership across the street from his father's. He was a likable, friendly, man that everyone spoke very highly of in the community. Mac would be seen in a shirt and tie taking the time with customers to change bulbs for indicator lights on the car they purchased from his dealership. He always wanted people to succeed by donating to charities, vocational schools and helping other dealers in the area to better their business.
Dealer members of the Association are able to call in to speak with staff members about concerns, issues or questions for their dealership's operations. This includes the legal services if a subject is needing this level of support. Questions will be answered within 1 to 2 business days. Information regarding industry impact and pertinent subject matter is reported through various association publications such as the Front Row and the Washington state newsletter.Each of the publications are provided free of charge to active members.
