I brought my Volvo XC-60 for the scheduled 40K service. This was my first time at Autotech. They agreed to start with the basic oil change/inspections. Anything that needed replacement, like brake fluid, would be as needed basis. The vehicle got a clean bill of health, costing me a third of the dealership quote. I appreciated Autotech's honesty and their timelines with completing the work.

Great service and honest team! Went for a break fluid flush (Recomended every 2 years and 3 had passed). They were honest and told me that fluid was clean and ok to wait a bit more. Still did it but the point is they didn't try to upsell me and were willing to not make money in order to provide good service. They also drove me home after I left the car.

I've taken 2 cars in the past month to Auto Tech. Auto Tech performed the services needed in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. In addition, both times, Michael communicated with me so that I stayed informed and he went out if his way to get information including how to get and the cost of a replacement key. He and his staff are all pleasant and helpful. Odd to say that a auto repair place was a nice experience but the personal and competent service of Auto Tech made both times a nice experience.

This was one of the best mechanics I've been to outside of my home in NY. I was having an issue with an accessory for my truck and I went in to see Vinny and explained my situation. He put his best mechanics on the job and within a few hours his mechanics worked their magic. Vinny kept me up to date throughout the whole repair. He even called me to say that his mechanic may take a bit longer because he wanted it to be perfect. I have to say they were professional and very fair. Thank you to Vinny and his team of excellent mechanics!

These guys are great. I am up here in Stamford for business and my tail light goes out. I call Auto Tech and they fit me in the next day. When I show up, the see me right away, fix the issue and I am back to work in 20 minutes. If this is they way they treat someone who is only in town temporarily, imagine how they treat their regular customers. Truly great shop. Thanks to everyone there.

I took my GL 450 to take a look at the little noise coming out of front wheel brakes, they insisted the brakes are worn out and need to be replaced which I could not believe because it was just changed a year and half ago, either way I thought may be something gone bad. They replaced whole brake pads and rotors. When I got back I started hearing annoying squeezing sound I thought it might be of new brakes.
I had to take another appointment to take a look after couple of weeks. The guy at the front desk not sure if he is the owner he said he drove himself all fixed and no noise. I started hearing it in another 30 mins, finally I was so annoyed and had to take it to the dealer. Dealer asked me who did your brakes? they put all wrong parts in the brake that's why that annoying squeezing noise.
I called this guys back and ask explanation he still refusing to admit I had to spend extra grands to fix their mess which did not exist in the first place. I can not trust them after my personal disappointed experience

The guys were very thorough and helpful. I had been trying to diagnose the issue for 8 months. The Volvo dealer was not helpful so I was looking for someone to help me with my Volvo. AutoTech was prompt, courteous, fair and professional and they sent a driver to deliver me home and pick me up while they services my car. I am extremely happy and could not have had a better experience. Thanks Guys! You have earned my future business!

These guys are very honest and professional. I recently moved to Stamford from Dallas and needed brake replacement. They gave me an appointment next day and shuttle service to drop me back to my apartment. They explained me what condition my brakes were in and how much the it will cost me. The price was reasonable and the job was well done! I would definitely give them more business.

The complaint was the car is shaking at freeway speeds when brakes are applied. I took the car to Auto Tech for service, they checked and called me saying that it 'might' be control arms. Upon hearing they say might be I asked if they are sure and they said yes they are sure it is because of control arms. I had them replaced but the problem didn't go away.
I called them after couple of days and they said wheel alignment might be needed as they replaced control arms, I had that done at my own cost. I took the vehicle back to auto tech to recheck but they mentioned they didn't observe any shaking, not sure if they even drove it at highway speeds. The problem didn't resolve, it kept on increasing day by day. I had the vehicle checked at BMW dealership to learn that the rotors are warped. I doubt auto Tech even replaced the control arms, $2K loss working with such liars.

We were driving south in Friday pre-rush traffic on the Merritt Parkway in my girlfriend's Fiat when it started losing power. This was a new thing for her, and after squarely hitting a few potholes earlier we weren't certain our weekend plans were about to change for the worse. I looked for the nearest foreign repair shop we could nurse the car to, and ended up on Magee Ave, looking at a place that didn't fit the description and also looked quite closed. Luckily, next door we found these guys.
We explained the situation to Mike, and while their techs had all gone home for the day, they didn't leave us hanging. Vinnie took the car around the block to see if it would repeat its misbehavior. In the meantime Mike made a few calls to try to reserve a car in the off chance we needed a rental. As it turned out, the Fiat refused to stutter again, and we decided to wade back into NYC rush hour.
But Mike insisted that we take his card and let him know how the adventure went. I can't vouch for their technical wizardry because we didn't leave the car with them but I can say that we left with a greater faith in humanity, and can you really put a price on that? We probably took up a half hour or so of their time at closing time at the end of the week, and it would have been super easy for them to blow us off or try to convince us to leave the car over the weekend, for what turned out to be an aberration. Excellent customer service- thanks guys!

I have had my car at AutoTech Service severance times for both repairs and service. Their service and knowledge is amazing and I guarantee you that your car will be in good hands. If you hold your car dear and you do not want or need to go to the manufactures shop (in my case it is Mercedes) this is the only place in town I would use!

I have a 2008 Impreza with 60K on odometer that stalled on a stop light. I call the tow company and suggest the nearest auto shop. Unfortunately it was Auto Tech in Stamford. Service writer told me $129 for diagnose before he can give estimated price for a repair. He call later that day and said the technician has found nothing major issue except I need a new battery and minor engine tune-up.
He quoted a price of $650. I said I have other concern about my AC is not blowing cold. He said they will do another diagnose and give me a quote to fix it. They found out my car need a new AC condenser which cost $750 to fix. All in all I paid $1400 after my Triple A discount. I ask about the warranty he said 2 years. After a month my AC is not working again so I bring it back and they told me the new AC condenser works fine the problem is the compressor it need to be replace. it's kind of fishy to me because when they diagnose my AC for the first time there's nothing wrong with the compressor now they insist it's broken and wants me to spend a $1000. Sorry to say but these guys are crooks and untrustworthy. I suggest to avoid this shop they will take your money and never fix the problem.

I can't believe that auto service was actually a pleasurable experience! After using Range Rover service for 5+ years (3 different dealerships) and being continually disappointed (appointments difficult to schedule, loaner cars not available, extremely expensive and they upsell you on top of that) we decided to try AutoTech Service in Stamford. Pleaseant to deal with, knowledgeable, experienced, delivered their promises and much less expensive than the dealers. these guys get it right! No B/S, just the way it's supposed to be. We'll. Be. My car had to go to a body shop for minor fender repair. For whatever reason, the car would not start at the shop. It was towed to Auto Tech for repair. Auto Tech was able to take care and get the car started and running the next day. Auto Tech's knowledgeable technicians are very good at troubleshooting unique issues and solving them quickly. And the fees were more than reasonable!

I took my car to AutoTech to have some work done and was extremely sorry that I had. I encountered ineptitude, rude and untrustworthy behavior and what I consider excessive charges for services rendered. Over $300 for a diagnosis of the car's issue? They exaggerated their ability to correct the problem. I highly recommend seeking other shops for your car repair needs.
I certainly will never go back. Added to that, when they ran into problems that needed my input, rather than picking up the phone and calling they would simply sit on it and wail for me to call them. Bottom line; I was without my car for about a week and a half while zero repair were done.

DO NOT take your imported car to Auto Tech for a "Service Engine Soon" or "Check Engine" light issue. I brought my BMW 325ci to them for this problem and they charged me for unnecessary repairs without ever solving the problem. They charged me $739 to replace a $35 mass air meter that didn't need replacing. The car's odometer showed that they drove the car 61 miles.
When I brought the car back ten days later with the "Service Engine Soon" light still on, they tried to convince me that the engine was running cold and needed a new thermostat. I checked the temperature reading on the dash and it was perfected centered between Hot and Cold, so I declined the $700 repair. Earlier, they tried to charge me $750 to replace another working sensor, a Steering Angle sensor that only needed to be recalibrated, not replaced. I reset the sensor myself.

Not every shop can accommodate an emergency, but these guys do it with speed and grace. We had our car overheat on a long road trip. Autotech not only saw us the same day, the diagnosed the issue quickly and installed a replacement thermostat within hours. As a result, we got to our destination only after hours later than expected. A fair price, a will guess to find a solution, and fast service. Excellent!

These guys are great. Much better than dealership service center prices and just as technically proficient. Excellent customer service too. A day after my oil change and tire rotation, a screeching sound started coming from the driver side wheel well. They told me to bring it in without hesitation, found that a pebble had wedged itself in between my rotor and rotor plate. They removed the wheel and fixed it free of charge. Phenomenal experience. They've found themselves a repeat customer.

I always have a good experience with AutoTech. Michael and the gang always take good care of me and my car, and the prices are very reasonable. I just took it in today for a broken radiator hose, and they took me in at the last minute and had it fixed, up and running pronto. Very happy with AutoTech!

Initially I made my regular annual service appt at Darien Land Rover for my Evoque. I brought it in and 6 hours later, they did not start work on it so I picked it up and told them I would reschedule. The cost for my 2013 was $1,031 for a 40,000 miles service ( I only have 35k miles on it) with over $800 for labor. This before anything such as brake pads are needed.
So I called AutoTech, talked to a nice man Mike who told me the charge would be $369 for that same service including a free loaner car. So, I made the appt and after an hour received a call my car needed all new brakes, including discs & rotors. I had never changed my front brakes so that made sense for pads. The discs and rotors were questionable.
Of course they had all the parts to do the work and I would be able to pick up the car by the end of the day. Lucky me, over $1700.00 later. My point is know what you are getting into, I didn't want to be bothered with brakes for the next year so I agreed with the work to be performed. Did I need it all, probably not immediately. The loaner car was pretty awful, had to get picked up and go the Dollar Rent a Car.
Bottom line, the labor for all the work was still less than the labor initially quoted by Darien Land Rover with just performing oil change and inspection for the 40,000 service. Would I go back to Auto Tech? Only with my guard up and prepared to say no thank you for the additional services "needed".

Much less expensive than the dealer, where i'd been going for years. Or so I used to think. In one case they did a cheap fix which saved me a lot of money for awhile, but then there was no getting around the part needing replacement so i had to do it eventually. Recently they did a routine maintenance and told me i needed something replaced -- they came in at $1000 on their estimate.
The dealer said he'd do it for $100 less. So i'm not sure if i'll be returning. UPDATE -- brought to dealer who did complete suspension check and told me all is OK and that the $1000 repair which auto tech suggested is completely unnecessary Finished with this place, wonder how much I paid them over the years for non essential work. Rip off

Had an appt for a simple fluid flush/replacement of the brake line as a maintenance procedure. I was told "Should take an hr or so since you're the first appt of the day". "OK, I'll go for a walk and be back" When I got back, I was presented with 2 other repairs which were recommended. One being replacement of front brakes. Well, I asked the owner, "Why does my electronic readout on the dash say "Brakes OK, replace in 16K Miles."? "And rear brakes 25K?" Guess he didn't think I knew about the electronic reporting of the car's basic maintenance items.
I just keep wondering how many people have been 'taken', as I may have been? True, I believe this repair shop may have the technical skill for repairs, but their business ethics are truly abhorrent. (and BTW, I had to wait another hour to have the original repair done)

Horrible Customer Service! I was treated so poorly that I decided to cancel my repairs while the mechanic was already under the hood. Why the person at the front desk was so disrespectful in the way that he spoke to me, I will never know. There is no excuse for treating and talking to a paying customer like they are dirt. I did nothing to warrant such rude behavior from whatever person it is who handles the phone and front desk.
On top of everything, after speaking to me so rudely, they wanted to substantially raise the price on their estimate after the work had already started. I paid nothing and immediately told them to simply return my vehicle to me so that I could go elsewhere - which I did. I will never return.

I came in to replace a water pump and labor agreed to be on hourly rate. By the book the job should have taken 2-2.5 hours but they charged me for 4 hours. I saw their mechanic work on other cars while clocking my job. Don't come near this place. Funny thing is that they are on the AAA recommended shop list. Don't trust AAA list

BEWARE! Total rip-off joint! Do not let the friendly desk clerk shield the con. Extremely high priced. They bad mouth the dealer while encouraging you to make unnecessary repairs. Extremely disappointed. After declining a major repair I felt must be too early in the cars life to be needed, I found independent repair shop few blocks away that corrected the real problem for 1/4 the cost. Unbelievable! I am working on sending a news team undercover to expose these people.
