Great experience with Edgar! Thank you for taking great care of us as a customer and helping us find exactly what we wanted for our first electric vehicle.

Sales team/Management & dealership in general needs a lot of improvement on their professionalism. They tend to over promise and under deliver which has no excuse in any industry. As soon as we got into finance their F&I guy Jesus starts trying to sell sporting event tickets before he even introduced himself. Chuck would not be happy! Don't expect too much when it comes to their "New Car Detail" We picked are car Up after 5 hours plenty of time to do a thorough detail, right? NOPE!

Guess not even after the sales kid Jonathan said he was going to have them get all the bugs off and have it looking brand new. NOT THE CASE AT ALL! They couldn't even vacuum or clean the windows on the inside. I understand in Your guys eyes its a VW and not BMW so You don't want to put as much effort into it but as a corporate trainer for Audi, I must say that is all wrong! No wonder You guys are not selling as much vehicles as You should. Wheres your honor at guys for such a reputable company?

Honestly, incredibly impressed with my experience here. I had a VW at the end of its lease which I wanted to go ahead and purchase via financing. The Community VW (Joesph Murgia) team has made the process incredibly, and surprisingly easy. I live rather far away from the dealership, and they sent a driver with all the paperwork, saving me a full day!

They even did some extra shopping around for the financing options and saved me a ton of money on my monthly payment. I genuinely never thought I would leave a good review for a car dealership, but here I am highly recommending them to anyone/everyone.

Don't rely on Edgar to tell you the truth - we've had to drive to the dealership multiple times to deal with something wrong, and end up getting the run-around every time. He's a liar, and not worth dealing with. If you do buy a car here, make sure to get a different salesman and honestly, just go to a different location.

I recently purchased a jetta from these lovely people and I am in love with my car. At first, they could not find the spare key on my used car, which was no problem, however I did have to hound them to get another one ordered. With that, i need the key programmed right? Well I make that appointment for 7:30 am since that is the earliest I believe I could get in.

However when I arrive I am told that the guys who do key programming do not get here until 8. Now why would my appointment be 30 minutes before they even get there? There needs to be more communication within the team, because I dont need to be here at 7:30 if they arent even here! My program was included and it was not in the notes of the purchase.

They had to call the person who did the sale to confirm which I think should have been noted of in the first place. Atleast I got a free car wash, but I shouldnt have to wait around for half an hour because they arent even here.

Sales guy was good. Just didn't like the financing part when you tell them what you want and they still stay above what you need. Love my vehicle so far

Hands down the worst VW dealer I've visited. I went there to buy a compact SUV, the sales person was rushing, trying to push me to sell what he wanted to sell and never catered to my needs. He got my address wrong so I never received my license plates, they also got my account information wrong so I was never notified when or where to submit my payments.

When I went back to obtain this information the sales person who assisted me to buy my SUV pretended as if he'd never met me before and just uncouthly referred me to the finance department. Next time I buy a car I know exactly where NOT to go.

Unfortunately have had a consistently poor experience with this service department for the last 3 times I've brought the car in. They have done the warranty work requested without complaint, which earned them back two stars instead of one. However, the way they attempt to shoehorn services your vehicle DOES NOT NEED (as per Volkswagen's official maintenance schedule!) into every single visit is frankly jaw dropping.

I was quoted over $1,200 for a 40,000 mile service on my vehicle- one that, after my demand to see an itemized receipt, dropped to about $275. (They had stuck on several items that were required of other vehicles at 40,000 miles, but not required for my own car. When I demanded an explanation, they claimed that their computer system informed them the services were required, but did not dispute my assertion that I did not need those unnecessary extra services to maintain warranty coverage- because of course I do not).

Service departments like these lose sales departments customers. I love my VW GTI, it's an excellent car, but since Volkswagen in SLO closed, it is absolutely not worth the hassle. This last experience alone seriously affected COmmunity's chances of getting another car out of me or anyone I know.

Joseph was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Buying a car is usually a long and stressful process but he made the entire process so easy.

I have bought many cars over the years but this was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The sales manager and sales men were dishonest, disrespectful, and one salesman in particular was downright mean spirited. I went with my 21-year-old daughter to help her buy a used car. There were two that we were interested in and settled on one of them. When she wanted to talk to a family member on the phone before making an offer to salesman continue to stand right next to her and would not give her any privacy.

I walked up to them and ask them to give her some space and they completely ignored me. I asked more sternly a second time and they continued to ignore me. The best I could do was wedge myself in between my daughter and one of the salesman. After settling on one car I made an offer. The salesman asked if we wanted to put the offer in on both cars we had been looking at.

I said "no we only were interested in the one car." He said it was better to have 2 cars in mind. I told him again I was making on one only. The salesman asked us to go inside and sit down and look at the numbers. I said, " No, you can go in and present the offer to your manager and come back out and let me know." He continued to ask three or four times for us to go in and sit down and run the numbers.

He finally went in and spoke to the sales manager. When he came back out he had a big smile on his face and shook my hand leading us to believe we had a deal. At that point he said, "Go To the next dealership, this car is sold." Apparently the car had already been sold but they still let us test drive it and led us to believe it was available. My daughter was completely humiliated by this experience. This was the most unprofessional experience imaginable!

When I told the service manager I was going to write an honest review on yelp regarding my experience at this dealership. He said he didn't care and would use it as a "teaching moment" for his staff. Rather than take responsibility and correct the problem or miscommunication. I am an example for further training?!?!?! The fact that he admits the wrongdoing and DOES NOT CORRECT IT for me speaks volumes!

They may be the only VW dealer for hundreds of miles around, and that may be why they rate so low.they don't have competition. Be very leery of promises. I was lied to and then told I must have misunderstood. Conversations mean nothing unless you get EVERYTHING IN WRITING UPFRONT!

Had to take Touareg in for recall. "Service" notice appeared on dashboard but didn't have anything to do with the recall. The appointment was only for the recall but service advisor asked her if she wanted "service" done also. Not knowing that I handle service elsewhere as dealer overcharges for service, my wife approved the service. The service was oil change and inspect, refill, and rotate tires.

All for $400+. My mistake that I was not there to drop off car and be specific about work needed. Paid bill and drove 30 miles back home. Next day I notice that the "service" notice on dashboard still is warning of service needed (they forgot to reset?). Also I note that an additional warning that my coolant level is low (I had to add nearly a quart of coolant)! THE COOLANT WAS AN ITEM IN THE DEALER CHECKLIST THAT WAS INCLUDED IN MY $400 OIL CHANGE! Based on their botched repairing of my Touareg two years ago when they kept the vehicle for six weeks, and this service where they didn't check what is obviously on their own checklist Community Volkswagen's service department needs an overhaul.

This placut has to be inspected by bar My wife bought a 2008 vw bug that piece of junk has been in for multiple issues. First the sales man forgeg my signature, later on, just last week headlight bulbs burning a lot this is the third time, quote there was some wires touching the metal that was the problem, my wife's naive so this guy's take advantage of her, iam calling th bar for fraud. I never had a vw newest type thought. So if you're a person who appreciates to get nailed, without even notice it. They'll love you for being so stupid. Haaa mtf.

My car had a recall on it. I made an appt about a month ago which they cancelled without letting me know. I then waited a month before being able to get into the service department for the recall inspection. I just sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. Just for them to tell me they didn't do anything because they didn't have the tool to inspect it.

They could've told me at any point in the last month that they didn't have the tool. Or prior to me sitting in the waiting room for 2 hours. I would drive hours away just to avoid going to this dealership and service department because the staff does not care about my time.

The sales guy here was rude, I was buying a car that evening and he really made my experience unpleasant. He was very inpatient, he couldn't even take my details right in the paperwork, I had to go back in there 3 times to get it fixed. If you're trying to buy a VW just drive to a nearby city and go to a different dealer for a better experience.

Bought a vehicle there in Aug 2021, shady salesmen, the only reason we bought there is my son was impatient. They have the second key fob and will not send it to us. My son stove an hour there and was told there was none one who could help him I'm retrieving the key fob! They will not call you back! So frustrating!

They were backlogged in the service department and I had made my car appointment over 5 weeks ago. Other than the wait, which we all had no control of, the service was A+. Mauro, service advisor, was great and took care of me. He did say they are now only 3 weeks wait on appointments. Mauro explained what they will do and if any parts/service was warranty related he would let me know.

The next day he called and let me know the news of why my car would not start. They ordered the part and car was ready the following day. No charge at all and also got a wash! Thank you Mauro and team for getting me back on the road.

Luis and Matt worked really hard to present us a deal we couldn't refuse. They also gave us a great value for our trade-in. In this current car market, we were fortunate to find such a great car at our local dealership just a few minutes down the street. The entire process was one of the easiest and fastest car buying experiences we've ever had. Thank you so much!

We bought our 2008 Volkswagen rabbit here to be serviced. They said in order to diagnose it it was gonna cost $165, which seemed reasonable. Upon inspection they called and said they needed to remove the instrument cluster and it was going to cost an additional $225 and that that was going to fix the problem. After they fixed it, we went and paid for it, picked it up, and was driving away when it's stalled in the left-hand turn lane on Broadway, we couldn't put it in neutral. Had to call a tow truck and was blocking traffic for almost half an hour and the police came.

Upon having it towed back into the shop they called and said they are going to start throwing parts at it. Starting with a $900 instrument cluster and an ignition switch all the witch would cost $1800 to install and they're not even sure that that's going to fix the problem. Don't take your car here. They have no more expertise than any other auto shop at diagnosing problems. They will throw parts at your car, and cost you a fortune in doing so.

Brought in my car because I had a headlight out and was given an estimate for $630 because I had a "wiring issue", brought it to my local dealership and was told it'd be a $35 fix because one of my fuses was burnt. Another time I had ordered a spare key because my car had only come with one, when I picked up my car after getting the key programmed I was told that the job wasn't completed and I'd have to bring it back for them to finish it, that wasn't the problem.

The problem was that they tried to charge me again because according to them "they were doing the service again" even though it was never completed in the first place. Spare your wallet and find somewhere else to get your car serviced

We had a wonderful experience purchasing our vehicle at Community VW. The staff was courteous and we never felt pressure from any of the salespeople. Bijan was super helpful, and our financing was a breeze! We walked away with a brand new Atlas Cross Sport and are so happy. I would highly recommend Community VW to anyone in the market for a new vehicle.

Had to give this Update. A month after we bought this car, we got a Tire Pressure light come on. We check tire pressure and check for leaks. We couldn't find anything ourselves. Light kept coming on and we decide to bring it in. They tell us that there is a puncture on the inside that can't be patched and needs to be replaced instead. Mind you, this is a brand new car with high performance tires.

So we are expecting a 300-400 tire replacement. We take it to a different tire shop for a second opinion. They immediately patched it up and let us on our way. For free the buying experience was great. Still tbd about the maintenance service.

I have been dealing with this dealership since 2012. Bought my first Jetta there and in 2017 it was recalled so I chose to buy Another one from the same dealership. At that time the staff was very friendly. I bought this car I have now with the extended warranty and also paid for the service package at which point was told that this service would include the transmission flush. Was told at my last service that Volkswagen changed that Volkswagen decided no flush until after the 5 years so there's that.

The most expensive thing I paid for in package now not covered. Now with one service left my light came on notifying me I was due for an oil change which would be my last one covered so when I called the service manager said I wasn't due for 2 weeks so just call back then and they would get me in. Well I called back this morning and when talking to the service manager he said he had nothing open for 2 weeks which would put me a week over.

He also asked me if I had the paperwork showing I had another service because he didn't see anything in front of him so I had to dig up the paperwork and long story short will never go back to that dealership ever again. It's to bad because back in 2012 into 2017 they had a nice staff.

Very disorganized and dishonest. Will do ANYTHING to get more money out of you with a smile on their face. Recently took my car in and they recommended replacing a specific low priority part. I asked them not to fix it but they did it anyway. When confronted about it they said they would have to charge me labor to take the new part out and there would also be a restocking fee. I've given this dealership too many benefits of doubt over the last 3 years and this was the last straw. NEVER TAKING MY CAR HERE AGAIN.

The team at Community VW are awesome. They really work with you and like their name says the community. I went in expecting to just test drive a vehicle before I went to LA to actually purchase(it was cheaper in LA). After working with Saul and Rudy they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I even ended up getting a better car then I was getting in LA. And Henry and the detail crew are top notch. I would definitely buy from them again and recommend anyone to go see the boys for their next car purchase!

THIS IS A WARNING TO ANYONE WHO PLAN TO TAKE HIS VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AT COMMUNITY VOLKSWAGON IN SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA The water pump in my 2013 VW CC had a leak. VW of America had identified the premature malfunction and the problem with the faulty pump and extended the warranty on the pump for 10 years or 100.000 miles. I took the car to Community Volkswagen in Santa Maria for service to perform the recall.

The service manager did deny any knowledge regarding the recall and was setting me up to pay for the costly repair. After speaking with the owner, he tried to downplay and dismiss the attempt made by his service manager. He did schedule a service appointment for me, and the service was done approximately a week later. There, the dealer trained mechanic assigned to the vehicle along with the shop foreman, both certified that the repair was completed, and a pressure leak test was performed and determined that the repair was done according to the factory specifications.

Right after my visit, I took the car home and put it in my garage. Two days after the service was completed, I decided to make a trip to Los Angeles about 200 miles away from home to visit my grandkids. On my way there, I stopped to fuel the car at a gas station, that is when I discovered that the loose change I had saved in the money compartment has disappeared (about $50).

The next day as I was heading back home late at night when I felt a big jolt and the engine light came on and the car lost power, I immediately pulled over and reached for the owner's manual to get details about the engine warning light. The information provided was alarming and warned not to drive the car and to take it to have it checked immediately.

I was not sure if I could make it back home safely with 150 miles left. I, then decided to sleep in the car until sunrise and drive back to LA since it was a shorter trip to my mechanic to have the car checked. Early morning, I drove the car back to the mechanic shop in LA. The mechanic ran a diagnostic scan on the vehicle and found numerous engine error codes.

He was very shocked when he discovered that the engine turbo oil hose was left completely separated and unconnected after the service was completed at the dealership. He also pointed out the massive oil leak collected by the guard pan beneath the car as a result of the inadequate service by Community Volkswagen. He informed me that I was lucky to avoid the dangerous exposure I could have had while driving and the car stalls risking me to potential deadly accident.

I was very disappointed and furious of the dealership lousy and unprofessional handling of the repair. At this point, I am convinced the hose was intentionally left unconnected so I would take the car back for inspection and be charged for additional unnecessary repairs that the dealer failed to collect for the recall repair. I will never take my car to Community Volkswagen ever again as they seem to be dishonest, unethical and scammers.

I picked up a part here and half the staff weren't wearing their masks inside, including the one helping me, weren't keeping their distance, and were generally unfriendly except for the maintenance department, who were wearing masks and helpful when I first arrived. Great place to get COVID, terrible place to get a car.

Don't keep their word. My salesman sold himself as someone who is nothing like your typical salesman name Matt Correa. I was clear that we needed two keys for my car but the one we were potentially purchasing only had one so I ask him if he is able to help me get one more key fob he said he would. We texted about the key a few times. It's been month later no key.

He keep saying the honda place he calling not calling him back so i give him more location to call but no reply. It's unfortunate because although it's just a key it's something that was promised just to close the sale. This happened when you think they trying there best to help. guess it's the last time I checked out car from this place.

I waited over a month to post this to make sure my car was as dreamy as they said it would be with no issues down the road, turns out to be true. I've never purchased a car "online" or without driving it first so I was probably one of the most skeptical customers ever. I gave them slightly a hard time because I wanted to make sure I throughly went through all of it with them before shipping my car to me so there were absolutely NO SURPRISES and let me tell you - the guy that I worked with had the patience of a saint. Matthew Correra was the best salesman I have ever worked with, and I've bought 6 VWs prior to my beetle I got from him. Matthew was not pushy or dishonest like a lot I've met.

Just a regular human who likes to sell cars. A true breath of fresh air when it comes to this business. He went above and beyond my husband and I's expectations and I'd buy from him again if I needed to. My car came clean, and actually better than I expected. Matthew really helped us out. He sent me a very detailed video of my car and kept me updated with photos as it all processed.

They kept their word with everything, even shipping cost when there was a slight obstacle, and they were so transparent about all of it. I highly recommend him and his team and trust them now completely. Thanks again. I absolutely love this beetle and I appreciate the honesty and dedication you gave me during a pandemic. Stay healthy

I wanted to stand by this company. I bought a fraudulent TDI, which needed an emissions modification. I loved the car, so I opted for the payment of about $3,400 last year. They said the engine would be guaranteed. I just broke down last week on 101 with a high pressure fuel pump failure. The car needs a new pump, valves, hoses, injectors, flush the gas tank.a whole new fuel system.

They extended the warranty to 124,000 miles, and I'm at 128,000. $5,800 repair. How can this company offer reparations last year only to demand nearly double that amount one year later for complete engine failure? Apparently, this is a common problem with these engines. I would avoid this company and this dealership, as they have not yet figured out major manufacturing issues or corporate ethics.

I honestly can't say enough about the level of service I receive every time I go to community Volkswagen. Tony and Zack are nothing short of amazing and go above and beyond every time to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the service you received. They are professional, fun and courteous. I've had so many great resolutions on my car because they are always looking out for you the customer. I actually look forward to going in and spending money, sharing a little time with them and always feel like a winner. Thank you both so much.
