Could not be a worst experience. I would never recommend buying here. Stay away from Tommy, he's very rude and unprofessional. He will also try to bash the vehicle you are trying to trade in about how dirty and damaged it is and the loan you already have. I told him multiple times I have a bank that I finance with and he would not stop about how terrible my loan is and finance with them after I made it clear I will use my own bank.
He will also tell you one number one day then change it the next day so don't ask for out the door price they do not honor it. I was promised 55k out the door come to final paperwork they were trying to get 61k. Tommy also left in the middle of our deal to work with another customer out on the lot. After getting tired of waiting for Tommy I asked the sales manager, Vince, I think his name is who was also rude to work with.
He still had me wait for Tommy. After he returned he stopped our deal again to speak with a customer on the phone. The day before when I was there he asked me for one of my cigarettes then proceeded to tell me how he is not suppose to smoke at work or In front of customers. Had a Check in hand and wanting to buy a truck instead just got my time wasted and cigarettes bummed.
It was just an all around terrible experience, glad I'm am taking my money else where. Especially after wasting my time for two full days there. Terrible customer service and waste of time, buy anywhere else, save yourself the trouble.

If you are in the market for a new vehicle then go straight to Mark Porter Chevrolet GMC in Pomeroy, Ohio. Over all best prices I found and had the absolute best customer service. I drove an hour and half to and it was worth it. The salesman Jacob was honest, very welcoming, and did everything he could to make the deal happen. I couldn't have been more pleased with the transaction from start to finish.
There was no hassle, everyone was extremely professional, and they didn't swarm your vehicle when you pulled in. Which I can appreciate. I will definitely consider them again for future purchases. Thanks Mark Porter Chevrolet GMC for a great experience.

Great job on the repairs after mice ate the wiring and built a nest in the engine. They got us in quickly. The service manager even noticed i left my window down and he moved the car inside before the rain hit. Only negative comment is they didn't tell me ahead of time that credit card payments require 3% fee. The job was done the same day and they kept us informed throughout the day.

First, this is the very first new GMC truck that I have ever owned. Second, salesperson Chris did a GREAT job and took good care of me. Third, Chris came in on his day off and helped us close the deal. Finally, unlike other dealers in the area, they (Mark Porter/Chris) did not pass judgment on me for looking and asking questions about the 2022 GMC Denali. I am hopeful that the service department is just as good as my experience with the sales side.

From day one of me calling the dealership about a Tahoe I seen online, Jacob Canterbury has done everything possible to make sure I would get to purchase the vehicle I wanted. He lead me through the deposit process and followed up with me daily about the location of the vehicle and the best ETA he could give me. My Tahoe arrived earlier than I had expected and Jacob let me know as soon as he knew it was there.
I drove over 3 hours to get to the dealership and Jacob, John and the rest of the staff made my buying experience one of the BEST! I will definitely recommend Mark Porter Chevrolet and Jacob Canterbury to all my friends and family that are looking for their next vehicle purchase!

My wife took her car to the shop and waited for 4 hours with no given estimate of time outside of "a little longer". She was repeatedly asked if the car was in an accident because the A/C was out of refrigerant and they could not find a leak. They did a good job of billing a warranty issue so we did not pay for that. However, to charge the A/C and to assess two computer codes cost me just shy of $500. I feel like there was definitely a lack of communication when it came to both pricing and time involved.

I cannot begin to explain how happy I am with my experience. This is my second purchase from Mark Porter and I won't go anywhere else. Every employee I interacted with were so genuine & friendly. Jesse was the absolute best! He helped me with my previous vehicle purchase. I knew I wanted to go to him to help with this purchase. I felt he really listened to what I was interested in and was able to get me a great deal on my new Terrain! They get a gold star from me!

First off, your dealership was honest with us from the very beginning regarding the price! This means so much to customers, but is often not standard in the industry, so thank you! Also, you did not add "mark up charges " to your new vehicles. We had already dealt with a few other Chevy dealerships who were adding additional charges and one who actually hid it from us until we had almost finalized the deal. Next, we had never bought a vehicle that wasn't local, but we decided to go for it this time and Jesse did an amazing job working with us!
His communication was excellent and he was patient with us through the process. He was happy to help us get all the rebates that we qualified for and the paperwork was accurate and shipped to us quickly. We also spoke with John to finalize things and again, he was also very kind and patient with us. We have only positive things to say about your dealership, which has never happened in all our years of buying vehicles so thank you!

Greg Koon was our sales rep and he went above and beyond to help us. I went to check out a certain vehicle and when I started looking through the inventory on the lot, I ended up test driving 3 different cars. He was very knowledgeable on each one and patiently answered all my questions. We drove away with a wonderful new GMC Terrain!

I have never bought a vehicle without seeing/driving it first. We found the car we were looking for online at Mark Porter, however, our crazy life made it impossible to drive almost 3 hours to "look". I spoke with Chelsea and she made me feel like this was doable, so she put me in touch with my sales person, Amy Harrison. Long story short, we started this process on Thursday, and the car was delivered in our driveway on Saturday!
The car is exactly what they told us it would be, the customer service and sales experience were outstanding, and the delivery was also outstanding! Thank you very much to all who were part of this experience! I would highly recommend buying from Mark Porter Chevrolet! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all, from the Collins family!

Scam artists and criminals. My daughter brought her car in for service. I'm pretty sure as soon as they saw a young girl with out of state plates, their mouths were watering. Mike quoted me $900 for work that did not need done. I know a bit about cars and what he described to me didn't pass the smell test, so I told her to leave. Turns out I was 100% correct. I was able to fix both minor "problems" with a $15 part and 45 minutes of my time. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE!

BUYERS BEWARE - DO NOT BUY ESPECIALLY OUT OF STATE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. From the beginning this business' salesman and manager (Chase, calling you out bro) lacked professionalism and interest in helping us purchase a vehicle off their lot. After being told they would stay an hour late after closing, my husband and friend took off in the afternoon from Michigan to Ohio (not just around the corner) to retrieve what could've been our new vehicle. NOPE.
Changing their dopey minds, they said they were no longer staying late to make the transaction happen. Um. okayyyy. EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THEY WERE ALREADY 4 HOURS INTO THE DRIVE AND WERE 2 HOURS AWAY! THAT. IS. NOT. OKAY. You took away now over 8 HOURS (to and from) of our day just driving! How dare you! Offering a measly buck towards a hotel to stay overnight and make the transaction the next morning?
No thanks. We have lives too, we are trying to make this quick and easy for you! We have the money, insurance and everything up to par to make it oh so simple for you guys. Oh, now you'll try to sweeten the deal and say you'll come in 3 hours early before opening instead? What part of not staying late for 1 hour versus coming in 3 hours earlier makes sense?! I'll tell you. IT DOESN'T! Y'all are ridiculous and I find it CRAP that I'm even writing this review, but the people must know what it is like to be treated by you.
As someone who has been in the customer service industry for 18 years and the fact that my husband is also a salesman. we kind of know what it takes to understand, care and take extra time and steps to create an overall amazing experience for guests. A "sale" isn't just a sale, it can mean more than you know. And when it doesn't go well, you bet their ass they'll be sharing about it. Here's to hoping someday you'll find out what I'm talking about.

You get what you pay for, be aware of the service you will get after the purchase. After commenting that if the staff isn't capable of handling a concern appropriately that maybe it was time to get a more capable staff I was blocked. The owner (assumption based on name alone) is complaining about not wanting to go in on her day off while the vehicle owner has been without their vehicle for multiple weeks with no ETA on return.

Don't waste your time. I've had two bad experiences here. They low ball you on your trade. My experience was $2500 below trade in value. I could write a long story here, but long story short. stay away and spend your money at a place that is trustworthy. I went to Hugh White in Athens and had a great experience.

I Kelley Blue Book an old car I had. I also spoke to a woman for over 2 months periodically and at no point in time did she ever mention that they don't buy broke down cars. I Paid a tow truck to take the car up there after the Woman I had been talking to said to bring it up and salesman would make an offer. Once I got there I spoke to the sales manager and he was very rude and told me flat out that they don't buy broke down cars.
Never once while I was speaking to the woman over the phone and through emails did she mentioned this. the sales manager said that She should have told me about this and never once did he apologize for any good inconvenience or money I had to spend to get the car to them. Even though I was honest from the start and told them that the transmission was out they still said bring it in.
I guess moral of the story is even if Kelly blue book says that they want to buy it and they call your house and tell you they wanna make an offer on it don't believe it.

I would 100% recommend McClinton Chevrolet in Parkersburg OVER this scam artist of a dealership. I had two separate terrible experiences with Mark Porter Chevrolet. My husband and I went to test drive five vehicles we found online on Black Friday with the intention of purchasing one, we even brought the title to my trade-in to take it home same day.
The salesman Jeff was emotionally detached and borderline rude. I had already had a quote from McClinton on the value of my trade-in to purchase a new vehicle there. After test driving two new SUVs the Sales Manager Mike Rogers proceeded to tell me that my vehicle was worth nothing to him so I should keep it but they offer the best prices on vehicles so it would still be beneficial to buy there.
He began to attempt math on a sheet of paper to show me, his math was completely off and his statements false, I told him he needed to learn to use a calculator and stop attempting to patronize me. I was appalled that they wouldn't even attempt to match a trade from another dealership. I told them at that time that they would be loosing a second sale if we left because my husband was also looking to trade in his Diesel Truck.
Their claims of being the best deal are completely unjustified. I left there and went to McClinton who upped the offer of Mark Porter on the MSRP and gave me $2500 for my trade in that Mark Porter said was worth nothing, thus purchased a 2018 Equinox same day. I purchased a Truck from McClinton last year and also had a great experience with the staff, the salesman there was fantastic and the customer service Devine.
My second terrible experience was today when I went back to Mark Porter based on a truck my husband found online with a Guaranteed Dealer Price. Went in to purchase the truck, they asked if I had a trade in and I said not at this time. Sales Manager, Ron Esinaugle, told me this truck required a trade for the guaranteed price a year 99 or newer, I told him if that was the case and we needed to we could trade in our 99 Chevy S10.
He then proceeded to tell me the price online was a mistake and they would not be honoring it. I asked to speak to the owner because that was false advertising and I drove an hour to purchase a vehicle based on the advertised price. He stated that would not be happening because he was one step away from the owner and his good friend and he was in charge.
I told him I am sure that Mark Porter would be happy to hear that Ron thinks he is the end all be all of the business, obviously he doesn't care about the integrity of the business the way a business owner would (being a business owner myself I would know). I think its highly unethical and unprofessional to be hostile and rude to a client and raise your voice because you made a mistake you won't own up to.
I also think when someone asks to speak to a superior in the business, it's unprofessional to sit on a high horse about it especially when the customer is being respectful. I also think that when you advertise something on a website you own and operate, mistake or not you should honor it. Their mistake was not my fault but became my problem. Don't trust their advertisements or claims, they attempt to draw you in by claiming to have the best deals and accept trade-ins.
Both statements are false, but for some reason people still purchase vehicles there, your confusion in the matter cannot be more than my own. I wouldn't want to by from a dealership that preys on clients, lies and cheats.

Went in with cash to buy car, they said come in at 11.they show up at 1145, said he wanted to stay home and play with son, no other salesman would give me the time of day, because commission already went to other guy. Then went to some flunky trying to sell extended warranty, and as soon as I said no, his expression changed, he started slamming things around on his desk and you could clearly see that he was not happy because I didn't want to purchase warranty. All I wanted to do, was pay cash and drive a new car home. I don't know how these people stay in business with customer service like that.
