Bunge's Tire & Auto Center

I came here with a flat tire that had a piece of metal in it. They pulled out the piece of metal and filled it with air. When I came to pick it up, they told me that the tire was fine, didn't need to be repaired, and that it wasn't going to cost me anything. They could easily have hustled me, but they didn't. Not often do you find honest people so I wanted to give a shout out. Thanks!

I have a hard time trusting shops with my car. It seems they do just enough but not completely doing the job, so you have to come back, but I don't feel this way about this shop. They seem very honest and open and fixes it with ease. I would highly recommend them to everyone!

These mechanics were very helpful with my situation and their price was reasonable. I was in a tough spot since my car had broken down so far from my normal mechanic. I had to take my car to them for the first time and they did a great job for a good price! Would highly recommend them to everyone!

The people here are so nice. I took car there and I brought it back I thought they did something wrong. The gentleman drove my car and explained to me what he thought the problem was. He was right. I brought my car back to the dealership and yep he was right. The transmission had issues. They did not have to go that extra mile but, they did. I highly recommend this place for all your car needs.

Very. Polite and honest fellas! I had a nail in my tire, and couldn't find my wheel lock, they gave me good service and asked that it's better to take to a dealer, if they would have tried they would have damage the wheel. front desk individual is really professional and friendly.

I've been bringing my vehicles to Bunge's for well over a decade. I've typically found them to be straightforward in explaining the situation with my vehicle, prompt in doing the work, and good at communicating the status of the repair or service. Over the years, I'd come to know the guys at the counter well and they had built up some trust with me.

For this recent service, I had obtained a quote from a local dealership of $460. I typically would go to Bunge's to avoid paying "dealer" prices. When I told the man at the counter the dealership price, he said that he'd match that price. In the end, the total cost of the service came in at $451 (just below the dealership cost). I'm thrilled that they matched the dealer price and I was able to support a local independent business. They even gave me a ride home after I dropped off my car.

Good service, but you better not be in a hurry cause that's not going to happen. Oil change is about an hour with an appointment.

Critical: Professionalism, Value I had my oil changed. When i picked up my car i noticed oil on both front fenders by the hood. oil on the drivers door, outside and inside the door. Very unprofessional. I get the feeling they do not like their jobs here. This will be my last time going to this place.

Steve and Nick were great. Pricing was fair and accurate. They even used a quality OEM part for the job, where most shops would have gone cheap.

Absolutely love Bunge's. I have come to them for a few service jobs so far and they are top notch! Super friendly, and very helpful. Their prices are beyond fair and their service is fast. They even text you the next day to ask how everything went, I've never had a mechanic do that before, I am very impressed! I live less than a mile away and they are definitely going to be my go to service shop from here on out. I recommend them to everyone in the Elgin and South Elgin area!

I've been going to Bunge's for 7+ years. My last visit is my last. Unvaccinated, unmasked employee behind the service desk - looking at you Bob - was not very customer friendly at all. Horrible customer service. I will never be back.

Excellent place to get work done on your car. Wonderful customer service and work done to my complete satisfaction!.and I see nothing wrong with no masks! I'm not here for any medical treatment, so no masks, no gloves needed. THERE is a sign on door if you have concerns you can leave keys in drop box and they will gladly call you. they strive to respect all customers.

Got in quickly and they have a reasonable oil change price. They did forget to set my oil sensor, but I figured out how to do it, (thank you Google!)

Came for an oil change and not a single person in the entire building was wearing masks. When asked if they wear masks one responded with "We can stay away from you if you'll like", then proceeded to cough all over their screen. Disgusting never coming back here again. Edit response to owner: Hello Steve, I'm a healthcare worker, and I'm still very unpleased. Contracting the virus and recovering does not ensure safety of no longer spreading the virus. Even if I'm in no contact with the staff in your building, your workers are still entering my vehicle which is in contact with myself.

Talk about a bunch of Butchers the auto body shop Tredup's Brought my tire in to have a new rim and tire mounted on my 2020 Chevy Silverado at Bunge's tire and auto in Elgin due to an accident when I picked up my truck from the body shop I had requested the old tire and rim be returned to me for a spare they told me there was a core charge on the old rim which was weird because Dealers do not charge core charges on rims so I had to go to Bunge's and pickup the old tire only to find out the inner bead was destroyed when I confronted the service advisor he told me how do I know it wasn't like that when they brought it in REALLY on a brand new Truck with 6K miles just a Ridiculous answer, Then he proceeded to tell me we have state of the art equipment meaning that it could not happen Well there is a difference between having state of the art equipment and knowing how to use it, Then he says it will probably hold air and wanted me to buy a rim (Wait Where's my old one?) well before all of this started I brought the tire to another tire shop (discount tire )and they said the tire was Junk!

Again I have to say These guys at Bunge's are some serious Butchers wonder how many other people are running around with their tire beads tore or even worse some shoddy mechanical work. 2/19 to his reply : Insurance was never involved, Never wanted two tires and rims back only the one replaced that they butchered up.

The ONLY reason for the one star review is that NO ONE wears a mask or gloves in this establishment. When a gentleman walked in and said he forgot his mask (who does that nowadays?) and was told not to worry about it, I had enough. By the time I asked to cancel my appointment, they had already driven it to the back. I asked them to borrow their can of sanitizer and I left.

Went in for an oil changed asked the front desk to check the tires if there were any nails. They performed a tire patch without consent and end up charging 40 dollars. When I asked why they did the work without the consent he was like we just do it without asking. I told them they should have asked before doing it. They removed the charge. Once I paid and left the front desk guy gave me the middle finger and said I am no longer welcome we get a lot of business without you. Would not recommend. Rude and not trustworthy. Be careful.

I brought in my car with a tire that was leaking air and they were able to fix the problem straight away. The service was professional and quick. I'll definitely come back for my next auto problem

Just called to ask if bunges replaced headlights and I'm sorry i did. After talking to the guy who answered the phone for a couple minutes he stopped to ask me why i called. Really? Told him again and couldn't get a straight answer even after i told him the car year make and model. Think u can look that up on a computer. Price range was 20 to 200 wouldn't know until he looked at the car. Again look it up. Waste of my time. I will steer clear of this place. Need better customer service and a class on how to Google things.

Cant say enough about this shop and staff. Top notch service, affordable and extremely honest. When someone asks me if I know of good shop I always send them here. Very comfortable sending my wife or teen son here without me, knowing they will not nickel and dime them for everything. Thanks for everything guys we really appreciate you. The McBride Family
