I was looking at vehicles on their website and a pop up box offered me a $50 Visa card if I went in. A few weeks later I went in to see a car I was interested in. I spoke with Brianna and she said the car I wanted to look at had sold the day before. I decided to look at another car but she did not know anything about it. I was embarrassed for her and disappointed that her manager had not done a better job of training her.

When I asked her to validate my $50 Visa card she looked lost. She went to talk to a male manager who essentially blew me off. Then she talked to a woman named Ashley who assured me I would receive my $50 Visa card for coming in. It never happened. I tried calling and emailing the dealership with no response from anyone. I am now going to file formal complaints of fraud to the state attorney general's office and the better business bureau. Subaru of Mobile is a bait and switch operation.

I'm sure they will respond with a bogus excuse. Just look at all the bad reviews they have and do yourself a favor and shop/buy elsewhere. (my response on 5/17/22 to their response: First of all look at the enclosed photo, the offer is good until 5/31/22, it has not expired. Next, Ashley copied my driver's license so you have the information you need to redeem my $50 gift card. Finally, if you want to know when I was there you can ask Brianna or Ashley, did you even bother to read my initial review?). Update on 5/30, I finally received my gift card. It should not have taken so long nor so much effort on my part.

I had the best experience at Subaru of Mobile. All of the staff is attentive and pleasant and really wants to ensure you have a positive experience. My salesman was Chris Forehand and he was awesome. He was never pushy and I never felt pressured. He is a family man, kind, relatable, and very helpful. He is knowledgeable about the inventory, makes sure you are buying a car you try want, and goes above and beyond as a salesperson. My husband and I will 100% buy our next car from Subaru of Mobile and will specifically ask for Chris. 10/10 would recommend.

I hope this reaches other buyers and they don't have the same experience with Subaru Mobile Alabama that I did. I found an Outback Wilderness set to arrive on the 8th of May at this dealership. I reached out online to see if it was available. The pricing and window sticker are marked clearly on their website. (Total Bait and Switch). I received a text at 8:16am from Hunter to do what I thought was the buying process, nope.

Apparently the internet manager Mark is the only one capable of selling a car at their dealership. I was told he was in a meeting. At 10:34am I still hadn't heard from anyone. I reached out to Hunter asking for an eta for a call. He said the manager is still in a meeting. I then told him don't worry about calling me back. I'll take my business elsewhere.

He persisted so I was straight up and let him know 2 hours have passed with no call so I'll go elsewhere to a dealership that wants to sell a car. An hour later Mike a manager called. I let Mike know I was interested in the wilderness and he proceeded to tell me there is a MANDATORY charge at their dealership. LoJac and an upholstery warranty has to be purchased at a cost of over $2,000. It's to offset an MSRP markup. Subaru does not mark their cars up over MSRP. I've had 5 Subies and have never dealt with such a bait and switch tactic from Subaru. (I used to sell cars so I am very familiar with how the game works).

This is why I've chose to own Subies. Subarus already have alarm systems and they all have Starlink. No need for an after LoJac system and upholstery protection. $200 ceramic coat or $25 scotch guard protects the upholstery fine. I contacted Subaru North America and filed a formal complaint against this stealership. Subaru NA was great as always and apologize for Subaru Mobile Alabamas deceiving and dishonest behavior taking advantage of customers.

We just purchased a new Outback the day before yesterday for our son from Subaru of Mobile and it was a great experience. Skylar was our sale representative and one of the nicest salespersons we've ever met. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions. When we got to the new car, Skylar went through all the features and how everything worked.

He even told us to tell our son (who is off at college) to call him when he got the Outback so that he could answer any further questions he might have and go over the features with him too. We definitely need more sales people like Skylar.

I recently purchased a vehicle at Subaru of Mobile. Skylar H. was a very courteous, smart, accurate, and dedicated salesmen. We liked him the moment we met him. He made our experience of buying a vehicle so much easier. He is very knowledgeable of the brand he sells. Took the time to explain and show us all the fabulous features on our vehicle. Ask for Skylar. Enough said. I got my car totaled and came here to get a new one and this man has been so helpful with everything. Has a great personality and has even kept contact with me after the purchase. He is the gold standard for when it comes to car salesman. He tells it how it is and doesn't try to pull fast ones on customers. I'm sure the other salesman are good too but if you want to best of the best ask for Skylar.

-EDIT2- I'd like to further edit, to call out the hollow gesture made by Subaru of Mobile. They responded to this review in an attempt to save face but didn't respond to my voicemail or email sent to the contact information they provided. -EDIT- I reduced the number of stars. I got under the car today to see for myself, and it was very obvious what the problem was.

There is no way their mechanic spent more than 30 seconds identifying the issue. The heat shield was indeed rusted and loose around the top of the exhaust pipe. As far as the OEM parts go, you can replace this for ~$55. What kind of outrageous markup on labor is included to make this a $700+ repair?! I didn't even need a tool, it twisted right off.

I applied $20 worth of heat wrap. I also got to looking more carefully at the receipt. No where does it say Koby, so I'm inclined to believe that they are under new management. It now says Lithia/Subaru of Mobile. I'm sad to see Koby go. The receipt also shows the diagnostic fee of $155, but also includes a complimentary hand car wash line item at $0 for some reason.

It was not performed. -Original Review- I'd like to start with the good. We only interacted with the service department. He was fantastic. Very polite and felt genuinely interested & concerned about the mechanical issue our car was experiencing. With labor shortages going on, he was very busy but still took the time to talk to us and make us feel that our vehicle was in good hands.

For the bad, I have to start a little earlier in the story before we visited the dealership in person. Our Subaru has been making a loud rattling noise. I speculated it to be a loose heat shield on the exhaust system. My wife called to make an appointment and we were told at that point the diagnostic was $100. Upon arrival, we were told the diagnostic fee is $169.

We decided the piece of mind was worth it. We wanted to make sure it was only a loose heat shield, and not something more serious. We begrudgingly agreed. The next morning we received a call from the same fantastic service manager and he explained that the issue is indeed a heat shield, and that a replacement was $500+. I declined to have the repair done.

We arrived the next day to pick the car up and we were only charged ~$150. (The diagnostic fee changed 3 times! No explanation. If that isn't a red flag, what is?!) I'd also like to add, I was outraged by the $500+ price tag to replace a heat shield. I know mechanic labor rates are high, but no way that takes more than an hour to do. We won't be back.

I wanted to make sure that the staff of Subaru, are acknowledged for their professionalism and knowledge of the cars, products & services. Skylar Hollifield, the rep whom worked with me was extremely informative of the car I purchased. He was polite, efficient and easy to work with. He was able to get me a better rate than the offer I came in with and was straight forward on everything throughout the sale.

This is my first Subaru and there are a lot of functions of the car to learn and Skylar and staff have been, even after the sale, helpful in the discovery of the outback's features. Thank you guys, so much! I love my new Subaru

Chris was my sales person My first visit was excellent although they did not have the exact Outback I wanted. I actually "built" my Outback online with Subaru and Chris was most helpful in the process. It came in missing two items and within a week Chris and the team had me scheduled to bring my car in and have those items added. So far so good!

This was my first experience with Subaru. This was probably the smoothest car buying experience I've had. Chris was our salesman and was a very nice and laid back kind of guy. Helpful, knowledgeable, but did not have the pushy "salesman" attitude. I highly recommend asking for Chris when you visit Subaru! Thanks again!

We took our car in for regular maintenance. Everything seemed to check out until on the way home we noticed an airbag sensor going off. When we called back to ask if we could bring it in, we were told they would not be able to see us for a week! Given that this was something that occurred after their service & that it is a safety issue with the airbag, I thought they would be able to work us in right away.

We were looking at purchasing a new car with them, but we will be looking elsewhere. Customer service & safety are key and they do not value that at Subaru of Mobile. We were able to call Montgomery Subaru and they were able to work us in the next day! I highly recommend taking your service to Montgomery Subaru! It is worth the drive!

I connected with Subaru of Mobile in late September. The salesperson was polite, transparent, and extremely responsive. We finalized a deal at the end of the month for a car in transit. I flew down mid-Oct (WI - AL), and did all the paperwork. Went smoothly. Again the salesman was very professional. Finance was fine, though I did not appreciate my friends at my local Subaru Dealership being questioned, but I let it go.

Here is why I only gave two stars. Alabama issues 20-day temp plates. I received my temp plate on Oct 20, so the plate expired on 11/10. On November 26, I contacted the WI DMV asking about my plates (personalized plates take longer than standard plates). The WI DMV responded with - they never received any paperwork for the car! I contacted the salesperson right away, who sent me tracking numbers for the paperwork.

The paperwork for the title was submitted on November 12 - after the temp tags had expired! I was not informed of the delay by anyone at the dealership. Furthermore, they sent the paperwork to the wrong address, and the package was refused (by WI DMV). The dealership received the package back on November 19. I contact the salesperson on November 29, wondering what's going on.

I told the salesperson to send me all the documents (including a check for the taxes) and I would take care of the registration. November 30 - the salesperson texts me that the paperwork went out. End of the week, nothing. Monday, December 6, I contact the salesperson, he gives me the name of a lady to contact. Took three calls to get to her. She promptly replied - we sent the paperwork back to the DMV - the same place that rejected it the first time - and it was sent back.

I convince this lady to send the paperwork, along with a check for the taxes, to me. I receive the paperwork on Tuesday, Dec. 7. I take it to get processed - the check for the taxes wasn't signed. (In my haste to get this taken care of, I never bothered to check). I contact the dealership, and the lady that took the call (different lady than the paperwork lady) took ownership of her mistake, profusely apologized, rectified her error, called back again to apologize, and then sent me the tracking number for the replacement check.

I contacted the dealership, asked to talk to a manager, and spoke with Mike. Mike did apologize but all I got were excuses why the situation occurred and that there was nothing he could do to rectify the situation. Very much a "No harm, no foul" apology. I contacted my salesperson one last time Friday, December 10 who forwarded my email to the GM.

I expected some follow-up from the GM, however, nothing and it has been three business days. Had it not been for the professionalism of the salesperson and the lady who cut the check taking full ownership of her mistake, I would not have given the dealership two stars. This was and is a severe legal issue and there was no follow-up or concern that the situation got rectified. Be careful.

Three years later we're still satisfied with our purchase and with the Service Department. We take our Outback in for every service and the good people in there treat us right. Yes they are going through some transition pains right now but they re getting the job done right. Recommend.

We are definitely enjoying our outback but probably will not go back with another Subaru since this is the only Subaru dealer ship in Mobile. The service personal is not friendly, free oil change for life is tied to the fact that you have to let them preform all other services, which are extremely overpriced! Considered a new ascent but probably need to take a closer look at Toyota again!

Bought an ascent in 2019. Just like any dealer. Deceptive on the free oil changes with vehicle purchase. First randomly required tire rotations, then required brake fluid flush at 36k miles to continue receiving oil changes (ridiculous). What really upsets me is they quoted over 330$ to my wife when she called then almost 100$ lower when I called for the same service and have inconsistency in what is required to maintain the free oil changes. Typical run around and not what I expected from a Subaru dealer.

Verify that do ALL of the services you requested /pay for. I asked for an oil change and tire rotation and they charged for both but only did the oil change. Good thing I verified. They ended up doing my tire rotation and refunding me. But I shouldn't have to verify.

I love my Subaru and the staff at Koby. I have never had a problem but my only complaint is scheduled service takes so long. I guess I should look at the silver lining and they are being very thorough? I was falling asleep I was there so long! Again, love my Subaru!

We bought our Subaru Outback from Koby Subaru in 2014. We were treated well, with respect, and given every consideration. It was a good buying experience. We still have this amazing Outback, 6 years later, and it is running as well as it ever has. I highly recommend Subaru to anyone. In our experience it is a car you can depend on. I recommend Koby Subaru because of our experience in 2014 and because of how thoroughly they are taking care of the car even 6 years after our purchase.

We moved away from Mobile, and it's been difficult to get back to Koby for service. We finally got around to taking our car in today, and they noticed that we had not been back for the air bag recall which we forgot about. They are going to take care of that for us. Nice catch, Koby. We really appreciate it.

Worked with Cameron after putting an inquiry on a used Subaru. Drove all the way from the Panhandle to take a look at it. Came in with a challenging trade situation (recent damage and negative equity), never felt like the team wasn't working on getting me in a Subaru. After working through a couple used options, Cameron came back with a great deal on a NEW Outback.

I went from looking at a 3 year old, 80K mile used car to a brand new 2019 Outback. The deal was exactly what I wanted with the finance team offering great term options to choose from. Had a great conversation with Jim, the Business Manager. From start to finish, I had a great experience. I highly recommend this dealership if you're looking for a Subaru.

I have purchased 3 cars from this dealership and the sales staff (Mary) was pleasant, professional honest and responsive. Until recently I was also impressed by a clearly superior service department. A recent episode concerns me. The problem was that the service writer simply did not tell the truth. She stated she had called a body shop owner and spoke to him, only to find out that the owner at this shop was out of town.

She also would not accept recently expired coupons stating that they were not allowed to do this. This also was not true when the manager contradicted this statement stating that their policy was that this decision rested with the service writer. The Subaru product is excellent, the sales person I deal with is superior, honest and fair. If this is just a bad apple then I hope they correct the problem before it creates damage to their reputation and service.

It is a shame to watch a dealership with such a sterling reputation suddenly deteriorate. They know of the problem and I hope they respond to fix it. Honesty is not one of those elements that customers will forgive abuse of in seeking a dealership. Despite a clearly superior product, it will chase customers away. In this town which is like a giant fishbowl these kinds of episodes will become widely known very quickly. I hope they fix it as I have another car to buy in a month or so and the question is can I now trust this dealership or is it time to seek another product?

Although I cherish Subaru products and service, this bad rating is aimed towards the sales team. Telling a customer that they agree on a price and when said customer comes back the next day, with the money, to the same salesperson and that the salesperson says she "talked too soon" is not acceptable. Koby will not have my business ever, and this practice is bait for customers.

I will make sure people around me are briefed about how Koby are liars. I enjoy writing positive reviews a lot more than negative ones. But this has to be said. Review also posted to GMaps

God awful service, people and more. I am so disappointed! It would be better to speak to the owner Roger Koby, who I have requested to give me a call multiple times and absolutely doesn't care about anyone but himself and making money! This is the most awful dealership I have ever been to and wronged me out of 5k or more after purchasing a vehicle from them 3 weeks earlier. Last year I inquired about a used Outback that was listed on the lot. I set up an appointment for the following day to come and look at it. Someone even called me an hour before my appointment to confirm that I was still coming to look at the car. I went, met the guy, and then was informed that the car had sold the day before! Having driven an hour to come to the dealership, I sat as the salesman pulled up some other vehicles, none of which had interested me.

During that time, Mr. Koby came over and introduced himself. I consider myself an "educated buyer". After telling him what I was looking for and what I wanted to spend, I was pretty much treated like I was an idiot for thinking I would find what I was looking for. Do your own research. Don't take information from a dealer as the final word. Do more research. And with what you've found to be true for cars and prices in the used car market, I recommend heading elsewhere.

This summer, looking for a Mercedes AMG55 I stopped into this dealership to run some numbers on the smaller SLK350. Didn't buy the car yet (holding out for the AMG) but I know when I buy my next car, this is the dealership I will go to. No hassle, no pressure, friendly and courteous people.
