PLAIN means no finish, it is the natural color of the material. If a plain steel part is heat treated it will darken considerably unless it is pickled after heat treating to remove the scale. AMK utilizes Zinc Phosphate, a chemical conversion of the surface producing zinc crystals which becomes "home" for the sealer that provides basic corrosion protection.

Much of the vehicle hardware was accurate. However, the bolts for retaining the truck bed were short. I was promised replacement, they never arrived. I also had headlight bezels screws and J-nuts kit that was missing two of the "J" nuts. Emailed them and never received a response. I no longer am a customer. If you don't answer emails remove the link! Continuous improvement and "close the loop" are not values they take seriously.
