Their website is a hub for rental agencies only collecting application fees. There are no actual apartments available. Apartment managers will collect the fees, saying you're the only applicant and then make an excuse a week later as to why the apartment is no longer available. This was done several times. It's best to simply stop payment before they take your money.

WIRE FRAUD OPERATION: If you want to be sued, hire them. "Bugs" in their payment portal cause failed payments. Failed payments cause late fees. They collect a percentage of balances collected via debit card payments. including late fees. I called them several times over a 6 month period. I email a video of me clicking the buttons on the website, send them screenshots of the "bugs", etc.

Each time they claim that they "have a policy forbidding them from investigating bugs, unless the complaint was from the property management". Who of course are not particularly motivated to fix said bug either since it is helping them extort the innocent out of thousands of dollars in late fees. We really need to find a law firm thay can do a class action lawsuit. My lease and terms of service include language intended to intimidate me from leaving unfavorable feedback. Tough luck. I wasn't born yesterday.

There's no support thru rent cafe or Canterbury apartments in Myrtle Beach. The girls in the rental office can't figure out how to use a computer to setup a login. I guess rent cafe doesn't offer support to the property managers or their end users. Its been almost two months now and neither the the property manager at Canterbury or rent cafe has offered any support.

Moving out soon, roaches even tho I'm super clean the ppl there are not! Loud noisy upstairs neighbors all day and night kids loud everywhere no parking! It's nice inside but the other problems are not worth it especially the bugs i can't deal i will be out by next month!

I have NEVER EVER been able to even register an account with RentCafe! I've tried for months to get into Resident Portal. I've even sent emails to no avail. All I get is a generic response stating I'd be contacted at a later date. Unbelievable! In fact one star is really more than this company deserves.

Their rent cafe payment processing does not work; I used their services to pay rent online but instead it showed that my rent was paid both on the resident and leasing office websites. Instead, the payment never posted to my bank account and instead they returned the check 3 weeks later after I asked my leasing office to contact Rent Cafe. Payment processing failed due to Rent Cafe and not the management company, who has been doing a great job. Rent Cafe never bothered to notify neither the leasing office nor myself that the payment failed and instead chose to reject the payment, putting tenants who use this service at risk of late rent and penalty fees.

My fiance and i found this place thinking its one hell of a deal. Cheap apartments seemed clean but as soon as we went in to meet someone they had horrible customer service. We decided to brush it off nd apply regardless, we were put on a waiting list since january we were told they would notify us in the upcoming weeks. We did not hear from them until this week, with a letter saying they tried to contact us via phone when we never received a call.

The letter stated we had within 10 days to respond, we received this letter on july 8th the date posted was july 1st. I decided to call the same day, my first call i was on hold for about 5 minutes only to be told to call back at 1. I called back close to 2, again on hold for a couple of minutes, then they told me the leasing office isnt open on wednesdays to call back tomorrow (today) after 1.

We decided to go in person. We got there by 2:10 their sign says lunch is from 12-1, the office wasnt open but we could hear women laughing inside with the lights on. I called twice while we stood outside. Once i received the busy tone, second time the operator said the phone number is no longer service. In our short time there my fiance couldve ran over 2 children who were just running the streets without adult supervision. Needless to say we are no longer interested.
