Can't say enough nice things about everyone at Mountain Tech. They were fair and honest, their expertise when it comes to Subaru's put me at ease. I have taken my 99 Legacy there once for an ignition problem and once for a transmission problem and they did great work on both. They let me know my transmission was ok when they probably could have raked me over the coals. I highly recommend them.

I brought my 2010 Subaru Legacy 3.6R to Mountain Tech for a transmission oil flush. This was my first experience with Mountain Tech and after this experience alone, I will be returning for any and all maintenance needs my car requires. The staff is pleasant to talk to, very knowledgeable and very helpful when I have questions or want to understand exactly what my car needs. I will be a new regular customer for sure.

They are Seraphims devoted to ensuring safety, precision and the most reliable outcome. It is a rare treasure to encounter ongoing knowledge and honesty - on a consistent basis - and these gentlemen bring it to a Nobel Prize level. We are most fortunate to have such a gift in our midst.!

Long time customer. 20 years ago we bought my first car from them, (our family had already been going to them for years before that) and I've been taking my cars to them throughout the years ever since. You will not find a more transparent, straightforward shop anywhere else. Owned and operated by one of the nicest families around. Living in Central Oregon these days, I still gladly make the 3 hour drive even for oil changes and standard maintenance. Whenever something comes up they always take care of me. Glad to be back in a subaru after 4 long years. I've seriously missed this place =)

If you own a Subaru this is your shop. Friendly fast service, up front, honest, and most important best prices around. Because, they only work on Subarus their prices are lower than anywhere else. I have a 1999 Outback and this is the only place I will take it. Took it in recently for the windshield wiper transmission. They did a full diagnostic for free and gave me a report that was easy to understand.
They took their time going through all the work I needed, what could wait, and helped me come up with a plan that fit my budget. I took it in when I tried to repair my shifter linkage and couldn't figure it out. They just charged me to finish what I started.

Hands-down one of the most competent and most honest repair shops I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My 2009 Outback needed a new catalytic converter AND it was nearing 100k miles, which meant a timing belt change, plus who knows what else. Mountain Tech did a thorough assessment, which of course came back super-expensive because it was so exhaustive.
My final repairs were expensive, given their scope, but I was treated fairly and the shop spoke honestly to me about which services were truly needed and which could be put off. The car drives like a dream now, and the repairs came in much cheaper than the original estimate, as a few could be bundled to cut down on labor. Once you've got the engine opened up to fix the timing belt, for instance, you can do a lot of other stuff quite quickly, without needing to open it up for those separate tasks. Very honest, very skilled, very reliable. No one likes spending money on repairs, but if you need to, it won't be wasted here.

I will never take my Subaru anywhere else again. I bought my 2010 Outback from Carr Subaru, so while it was under warranty, I took it there for all of its regular maintenance. Now that it's out of warranty, I'm bringing it here. The last time I got my oil changed, (at Carr), I noticed an oil slick start to appear in my driveway. How does an almost brand new car leak oil, you ask?
Because the idiots at Carr didn't properly put the oil drain pan gasket back, so oil has been leaking out at a pretty steady pace. Carr also wanted to charge me $500 to do it's 30k maintenance. Mountain Tech charged $40, since all they really need to do is replace the air filter. They don't have much of a waiting area, so be prepared to take a walk.
It was freeeeeezing this morning, but me, my husband and 3 year old made an adventure out of it, walking down the street to the city elevator and going down to the Winter Farmers Market. We grabbed some breakfast at a cafe, then headed back up when my car was finished. They aren't going to BS you, over charge you and make you pay for crap you don't need done on your Subaru. They're good, honest people! For me, it's worth the drive from SE Portland to Oregon City!

Matt (owner) was helpful from the minute I stepped in to the moment I left. I never felt like I was being sold work/parts that didn't need to be done. I feel like pricing was more than fair and they were able to diagnose and repair same day which included brake pads, oil change, rotors, driving belts, etc. I will definitely continue getting my work done here.

I've been dealing with these guys for more than 20 years. My experience with them makes it worthwhile for me to drive the 6 hours from Gold Beach to Oregon City. I just made that trip to buy my 8th car from them. They make sure the cars are dependable and in good shape when you buy. If a problem cones up, they stand behind the sale. I wouldn't buy a car from anyone else
