Automotive technicians are often compared to doctors. This comparison undoubtedly makes some techs smile and others grimace. But in the end, the two professions have a lot in common. It may surprise consumers to find that by choosing these professionals wisely, they can get better care at a better price.

Jeff and the crew at Leadfoot Linda's diagnosed my faulty AC and were able to fix the problem just 1 day after I called (even with the record wait times at other shops and supply chain issues). Between the quick and effective repair, clear explanations, and follow up to ensure it was still working days after I picked up the vehicle, I've never worked with such a helpful auto shop. I'd recommend Leadfoot to anyone looking for peace of mind when getting car repairs done in the valley.

Have been taking our vehicles to Leadfoot Linda's for many years. Jeff the shop manager always takes great care of us and is very accommodating when we need service. When I have had issues Kenny the owner has contacted me directly and taken extra effort to make things right in a timely manner. Excellent timely service, backing up their work and commitment to doing things right keeps us coming back even though we have moved 20 miles away.

The service team at Leadfoot Linda's replaced my front struts on my Honda Accord. They did a fantastic job! They are extremely throughout, they take pictures of all their work, they are clean and they clearly explain everything that they are going to do before they do the work. The gentleman in the service department at Leadfoot Linda's treated me with the utmost respect, they had no idea that I had any prior experience in mechanics, so when they explained what they were going to do with my car in layman's terms, they earned a life long client. Thank you Jeff and the Leadfoot Linda's team!

I went to a Toyota dealer to diagnose three illuminated brake warning lights (ABS, VSC, VSC Off). The dealer said they could not figure out the problem but that if I was willing to leave the car with them for three days, they would take things apart to find out what was wrong. Sensing something was amiss with this dealer's capabilities, I took my car to Leadfoot Lindas instead.
The LFL technician diagnosed the problem, did the repair, and reprogrammed the computer all in less than an hour. And the repair cost was a small fraction of the dealer quote. The LFL team is a group of professionals with high technical and ethical standards. Trust them, and in Navy talk, here is a Bravo Zulu.

I've always had a good experience at Leadfoot Linda's. Jeff answered a number of questions for me before my truck was brought into the shop. They performed a general inspection and sent me a report with photos outlining maintenance that should be considered. Work was completed at the quoted price. Will use them again in the future. Service: Steering/Suspension

They looked at the car even though it was after hours made sure I was ok and able to get a ride home left a bottle of water while I waited. Was told what the problem was and cost and when they could get to it did all this with a great attitude which always makes me feel good that they know and are trying their best to get me back on the road. Will not go any place else to big work done on my car

I'd never take my car to anywhere else in the valley. These guys are the best, and they stand by their work. Could you find other places that charge a little less? Probably. But I'll take QUALITY work from an honest shop (and gladly pay a small premium for that service) any day over other places that don't tell the truth or don't back up their work.
I know from experience. I took my car to another shop and the owner said I needed new brakes/rotors. I knew I didn't because Leadfoot said I had at least another year on them, if not more (which ended up being the case). So, how much is that honesty worth? A lot, in my book. I've been a customer of Leadfoot Linda's for over 10 years and only had one minor issue (squeaky brakes), which they made right, and they never made me feel like I was making a big deal out of nothing. They offered to replace them and that resolved the issue. These guys are knowledgable, friendly, honest, fair, and do great work. What else do you want from an auto shop?

I've take some time in writing this review, because I knew I was going to give it a 5 star rating. I have a 2010 BMW 535xiT (T for touring or station wagon). Much to my chagrin BMW stopped importing 5series wagons so I hope to keep this one as long as I can. I had done business with Leadfoot Linda's in years past, but in the past year I began to use them for more serious work than oil changes.
Last year they replaced the auto tranny fluid per schedule and from my observation pushed all the right buttons. This put them on the path to gaining my trust. This year I got a red warning light on the way back from Denver climbing Vail pass. I let the car cool down and carefully drive to Leadfoot's at about 4:30 PM. Kyle made time for me, put the car on the BMW computer and announced that the fault codes showed my electric water pump was failing (thanks BMW). Parts were ordered and installed.
Nobody says BMWs are cheap to maintain, but as long as I like the car and the cost is a fraction of annual depreciation of a new car - I think the economics make sense. Thanks Kyle

I was traveling through Colorado pulling a car trailer when I had the unfortunate luck of having a wheel bearing go bad. A quick google search led me to Leadfoot Linda's. Although it was almost closing time for them, Jeff advised me he would do what he could to get me back on the road. The guys proceded to stay late that night to identify the problem and they also provided the parking overnight necessary for the trailer.
The next morning they were all over the repair and got me back on the road in no time. I have had many experiences regarding vehicle repair and I must say this is among the best customer service I have received in ages. I travel regularly across Colorado and am now thankful to have found someone to depend on in case I ever need them in the future.

I had an unfortunate night when my Jeep broke down on I70. This shop was the best help I could have received. They are so friendly, willing to help, honest and they really seem to want to provide assistance and information. They come highly recommended from me and that's saying a lot! I'm glad there are repair shops like this out there! Thank you so much Jeff!

Absolutely a joke. A year ago my buddy got new plugs and wires on his Subaru. This place charged him $360 for that work. I just did mine myself. It cost $36 for new plugs and wires and a half hour of time. I guess leadfoot entails a hint of leadfoot on the gas accelerator in terms of how much this garage charges people. Pathetic.

Brought in my car last night when they were closing down and the guys looked at it after hours which I really appreciated, and gave me an idea of why my check engine light was on in my 1998 Honda Civic. The mechanics were helpful and had my car ready to go the next day. The down side is that they charge 140 dollars HOURLY for labor, which is the most I have ever paid in my life for a mechanic. Replacing my spark plugs and rewiring totaled to $409.43.
I was also recommended and told it would be about $300 to flush my transmission fluid on my little Honda Civic, which I normally can get for $150. Overall the experience was positive, but Denver might be a better option next time just because of the rates.

Had a great experience, customer service-wise and speed-of-repair-wise here in November. I needed my car fixed in a week after a snowy accident, and they did an amazing job getting everything repaired. Car was running fine, until 6 days later. I hit North Carolina on my cross country scenic road trip to Boston, and the car started to sound like it needed power steering fluid.
Every few days after that, it would sound like it was out again. So we brought it into a Volkswagen dealership in MA and they informed us that Leadfoot Linda's had put in a broken steering column. Pretty major issue here.not sure how a broken steering column gets put into a car when that is the biggest issue. Volkswagen and Leadfoot Linda's were in touch with each other and with us, and got it all solved so that the only price we had to pay was the extra money Volkswagen would need for the Volkswagen brand steering column they were going to install.
I personally think Leadfoot should have refunded the entire repair because of a major error that was made, but one can only dream. Everyone on Leadfoot Linda's end was helpful and I would recommend you use them if you're in the Vail/Avon area. Seems like everyone else on here thinks they're a lot more expensive that other places in the Valley, so I guess if you are able to take it to the front range or to another repair shop, do it. But everyone was nice and helpful during the entire experience. I hope this kind of thing doesn't happen often or to anyone else.

Yesterday, I found myself in the uncomfortable position of having to take my neighbor's truck into an unknown shop to have the "check engine" light diagnosed. I agreed to the fee and went back to the condo to await the news. Three hours later, Mike called and said that the truck was ok and I could come and get it. Since I no longer had transportation, Christie (the shuttle driver and parts person) came and picked me up.
The problem was minor and they didn't charge me anything, not even for the diagnosis. Even gave me a free calendar and ice scraper, which I needed the next morning. Everyone I came in contact with was super friendly and helpful. If I have another car problem in the Vail area, I won't hesitate to call Leadfoot Linda's.

Oh goodness, please do not go here. twice i have dropped my car off for them to check the same things that was obviously wrong with my car (engine rattling, brake lights off) I even left my car there for a week and they didnt do anything except replace my tires and told me everything was ok but if that was the only thing they were going to do I should have brought it to Big O tires next door!
I told them in detail what i needed done and checked in to, they agreed and didnt do any of it at all. when I asked them about my bumper getting fixed they said they could do it but then when asked about why nothing was done, someone said to me that they are not a body shop! Well then why would you waste my time and lead me on into thinking you could do something when i asked? and not once but twice! Ridiculous and a waste of time. FYI: my engine dropped on me months after my visit to Leadfoot Linda's and them telling me that the rattling was nothing to worry about.

Being that it is the mountains, I expected high prices. They are very nice and come off as knowledgeable as Silvia S. commented. Luckily, I am blessed with a brother who is a sweet mechanic, but lives in another part of CO. Whenever my truck acts up, I typically bring it into a mechanic and get a run-down of things that may need service and relay that to my brother. Anywho, I brought my truck in for what I knew was an electrical issue.
They were able to identify it as a faulty alternator. They also pointed out that my rear axle seal was leaking fluid all over my brakes, and that I would need to repair the axle seal, the brake shoes and drums. Needless to say, the quote was not cheap. I talked to my brother, and I was able to replace my own alternator, saving $250 in labor for the 30 minute fix.
I also learned a thing or two. From there, I drove over to meet my brother to inspect the axle seal/brake issues. The axle seal was leaking, but not even close to the extent that Leadfoot told me. They informed me that it had coated the shoes/drums in the fluid, and that the repair was urgent. My brother showed me that there was not a drop of fluid on either of the two, and that the "urgent repair" was unnecessary. I understand mistakes, but trying to take me for a ~$6-700 ride is another thing. Get another quote before you say okay for work to be done on your car!
