I purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey February 2022 on a Saturday, that same evening as I was heading back to Louisiana, the check engine light came on, about 50 miles after I left the dealership. I called the dealership the following to report the issue I was having. I was advised that I could schedule a service appointment, which had to be on a weekday.
I explained I live 2 and a half hours away, I work and have a child in school, it was no way I could come there during the week. I understand I purchased as is, but being that the check engine light came on that fast, I'm lead to believe the service department manually cut it off, just to get it sold. Well fast forward to two weeks ago, April 2022, just two months after purchasing, the battery light came on followed by going into battery saver mode, ABS light came on, the lightening bolt symbol flashed on, the audio went off the vehicle lost acceleration and Speed went to 0 mph, while in motion.
Eventually it wouldn't even recognize the key fob. I called a week ago to report that I was not paying the note, dropping the insurance and turning the plate in. I am still awaiting them to send a wrecker truck to pick this lemon up.

I purchased a car from Holmes Motors last year in 2021 in October. I liked the car I put a down payment on and took it for a test drive and everything, a few weeks after I purchase the car I started having problems with it. So I called the dealership and let them know what kind of problems I was having on the vehicle. So when I finally took it to them, they held it for about two weeks trying to fix the problems on it.
At least I thought it was fixed but it wasnt. So when I picked it up it was giving me more problems after that. The speakers stop working and the headlight sensor was coming on. I was paying them constantly on time and it seems like they was getting over on me and getting my car fixed! Do Not I Repeat! Do not get a vehicle from them because they won't own up to they advertisement!
They will shut your car off even if your a day late on the payment! I'm so glad they are out my hair. People if you don't have good credit, Wait it put and find another dealership because they aren't 100 on they word. I will walk with a pocket full of money before I get a car from them again, I wouldn't even refer them to any of my associates Don't Deal with them! Listen People! Smh

Please read carefully your paperwork when you're considering purchasing a vehicle from Holmes motors. You are actually leasing the vehicle and if you decide not to purchase the vehicle, Holmes gets the vehicle back. After you've made all the scheduled payments on the vehicle, you'll then have an opportunity to purchase the vehicle, and at that time if you decide to purchase the vehicle you'll begin paying the residual fees. If at all possible I would suggest purchasing a car from a dealership with better financing terms. I'm sure it can be done.

They should change their name to Holmes Lemons! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM! Worst place ever! I bought a car, spent $3000 after down payment & insurance. I had my mechanic check the oil & test drive it. The transmission was slipping, the brakes needed to be replaced, it made a loud humming noise, little oil in there, needed a tune up, whole engine was shaking, etc. He told me straight up, the car was alemon & to bring it back. I brought it back the day after I bought it, that should speak volumes. Fuck that place!

BEWARE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I went on approximately November 18th, 2019 I purchased a Ford Expedition from Holmes Motors out of Birmingham, AL location. I drove the next day all the way to there Mississippi location to pick it up. Approximately three days later the engine lights came on and wouldn't go no where. They had there repo team come get it and very nicely put me in a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica van around November 27th, 2019.
I picked this up from there Montgomery, AL location. November 30th, 2019 I get an engine light on and error code P0305 (Cylinder Misfire on 5) Spark plug as well. The spark plug cost $15.00 and the Coil cost $73.00 with tax it was $86.79 and $150.00 for installation. Low and behold after 100 miles of driving the engine light comes back on and basically needs a new engine. Holmes Motors comes and tows it I get a call two days later saying it needs a new starter but they cant locate one.
I drove a total of six hours and paid $270.00 for a new starter. Holmes Motors takes the van back puts in a new engine. I get the van back and stuff is looser than hell. There are bare wires showing I call them and let them know this immediately. I am told bring it down and it will have to be here two or three days. I haven't had the time due to working non-stop and finding a good time to be without a vehicle for my kids.
I am bringing this van down tonight and I DONT want it back until it is SAFE for my kids. If we cant get it that way I need a SUV (I will pay the down payment difference) or my money back. I have spent a total of $506.79 not including gas running all over the place and only been refunded $223.00. I am beyond pissed with this company and I have got NO WHERE.
I have talked to so many people trying to get the rest of my money back I was promised it is not even funny only to get no where. As shown in the video below the engine shakes back and forth without it even running. Going from drive to reverse to neutral the whole van rocks back and forth. The coolant line either during changing out the engine or with the motor rocking back and forth has caused it to be bent in half in two spots.
I just need a safe and reliable vehicle for my kids and family. If this cant happen like I say I gave two other options, If we cant come to an agreement and resolve all these issues I will be taking this to my attorney. I have given ample time and patients with all these issues. I expect the van to be thoroughly checked over I will not be bringing it back any issues within 30 days after getting it back Holmes Motors will need to come get it.
Exactly one month ago I got it back from Holmes Motors. They tightened the motor mount. I now had the engine light come on over the Fourth of July leaving me stranded again. The van is shaking again and engine light is flashing giving me error code P0305 (Cylinder Misfire on 5) Spark plug as well AGAIN. I brought it down to be fix 7/7/2020 they call me 7/8/2020saying it's ready.
I go back to get it get 50 miles away from dealership SAME thing happened. I go in this morning 7/09/2020 they tell me after sitting forever waiting this code reading machine is broke. They don't know what's wrong with it but it my responsibility to fix out of my pocket. This is bullshit. They had this issue three days after I bought it rebuilt the parts and now it fails again and it's MY responsibility?
Almost $10,000 later and was in the shop more than I had it. Also engine is SUPPOSED to be under warranty. They tell me this isn't under warranty but getting the SAME error codes since three days after I got it. Joshua Lisenby 256-746-3143

Do not. I repeat do. Not. Buy. A. Car. From. This lemon lot. First they sold me a junk car, with promises to fix certain items and have a second key made. After signing I came back like they asked and they said "no ma'am, we said we would help you find local places to have this done" Ok, lying ass holes. But in addition to shit sales people, don't be fooled by the "3.9% interests" the my have a balloon payment and charge you at least 29% over Kelly bluebook the people that work their are horrible. Unorganized, unprofessional and just plain Rude. Don't buy from them. You actually can get better deals with in house finance at other places. Oh and there warranty. A joke and they charge you. Seriously be careful with those crooks.

All I can tell you is keep driving right on by holms motors the employees are rude and inattentive I waited 30 minutes with only one other customer on the lot then he tried to lie to me about the truck I was looking at as I already new because my brother owns one identical to it right down to the paint and interior then the price was jacked up $3500 more then the same one I ended up buy that day just down the street from them. IMO Stay away far far AWAY!

Bought a 2010 chevrolet traverse on 2/10/16. Had the car two months and will not start unless you take the battery cable off then put it back on. Call Holmes told me to.bring it to them. I lived in New orleans well took it back twice and they claim nothing is wrong. Well I gotten the code for the problem and they rwfuse to fix it. So I decided to sue and had them.come pick up there car. This dealership have to many lawsuits against them for selling a lemon car. Do not buy from them!
