A car's air conditioning works like any standard air conditioner, but on a much smaller scale. It's important to note that a vehicle's a/c doesn't produce cold air, it removes heat from the air entering its system. The refrigerant in your vehicle alternates between a gaseous and liquid state. When refrigerant in its cool liquid form is exposed to warm air in your vehicle's condenser, it evaporates into a gas and absorbs or removes heat from the surrounding environment.The heated refrigerant then moves to a separate part of the system, where the gas is compressed into liquid by the compressor.

They replaced my oil pan recently. Had a small issue a few days later with a sensor that wasn't plugged in entirely. They then did get me in right away and fixed it without charging me anything else. Jay's is phenomenal. I self diagnosed a heater core failure in my '14 VW Passat and had the part ordered but was unable to complete the repair myself. Called Jay's on a Friday and was able to get it in the following Friday. They were able to use my part and replaced the heater core within hours. The heat vents are now blowing hot air! So thankful for Jay's and the fact that they trusted my diagnosis and didn't second guess me, as most shops do with women. Will not go anywhere else in town from now on!

Loved working with Cary. He was very professional, and helped me get home and back while my car was serviced, which was above and beyond what I expected. it was very much appreciated. I have a Mini Cooper, so they are really the only ones around who can service my car, and I was happy to not have to drive to Appleton for an oil change. The diagnostic tests they did were really thorough also. Only draw back, and reason for only 4 stars, is I feel that they're priced slightly higher than the dealership. which right now is really important to me.

$455 for not fixing anything after 10 days. Quoted $400 Each to replace cup holders. Went to another shop in Ringle. Cup holders straight from car manufacturer LIST price is $67.31. Thank god I told them no: picked up my car with a new unpleasant ODOR and filthy. Pine needles everywhere along with parts from my door they took apart and didn't fix because they quoted me $800 to replace 1 door handle. They found the issue and fixed the handle for FREE. On top of a snarky Service Attendant at Jays when I turned down the $800 door handle.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! We had our son's car taken there for an oil change and they managed to butcher it to the point that the engine seized. The owner Jay will not take responsibility, avoids phone calls, lies, says that someone else changed the oil or the oil filter wasn't even the type he used. He presents as a very nice soft spoken person in the beginning, but beware! This place is not where you should take your car for a simple repair or even oil change! COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!
