I found a listing for a 1991 245 5-speed on craigslist and contacted Larry about the car. He really took the time to tell me everything about the car, sent all the service records he had from the previous owner, took even more pictures and made me feel at ease about my purchase. I bought the car, sight unseen, showed up on a Saturday morning, looked around his great collection of old Volvo's and petted the cows.
My brother-in-law and I hopped in the car and drove the 30 year old car 4,100 miles cross country with no issues. Ok, one issue - check engine light ( probably due to all the elevation changes). If I was local, Rainbow Auto would be a great place to have my car serviced.

I met Larry in 1991 soon after I moved to Bellingham. Our approach to life has many similarities but the one that has kept my loyalty is his commitment to value and in keeping solid Volvo vehicles in running condition. New or old he works on them all. His staff are dedicated and he runs an efficient operation. With 2 new drivers in our household we are putting them in safe and solid Volvos from Rainbow Auto. 3 of 4 drivers in our home are driving Volvos.

Larry is awesome! He treated me with kindness and respect - plus a bike to stretch my legs on & a great latte' on my return. A different mechanic had quoted me double the price for the same job, and I knew something was amiss, so I asked around. Two people recommended "Rainbow Larry" and I am so glad they did. My Volvo pony and I will definitely be back.
