The Penkhus Motor Company that you see today had its humble beginning back in 1951 when Robert N. Penkhus moved his young family from Ames, Iowa, and opened a tiny used car operation in Colorado Springs. In 1972 the Volvo Franchise was moved to a fledgling area of Colorado Springs called Motor City. In 1975, Mazda joined Volvo in Motor City to increase productivity and better serve clients.

I've taken my car here multiple times and have always been very well taken care of. The whole staff is extremely professional, friendly, and helpful especially Amanda for her always taking care of myself and my car! I refuse to take my car to any other Mazda dealership after having the great experiences that I have here. A huge shout out to the whole staff for always providing great service and making sure my car is good to hit the road again! A great and comfortable environment taking care of you in a very organized and timely manner!

We drove all the way down from northern Colorado to buy a car that I found online. Not only did they have the best deal on the car I wanted, but their staff provided the best buying experience that I've had. There is no way to get around the long ordeal of buying a car, but Jalyn and the entire team made sure things were done as quickly as possible.

We brought our own financing but Hugh made sure we got the best rate and term possible. My husband and I felt extremely taken care of. I would absolutely drive all the way down and purchase from them again!

Shop around. Make calls. Bob Penkhus prices are as good or better than what I found up in the Big City of Denver. Got a new 2022 model. Not only was the price in line with what I expected to pay. they ACTUALLY had the CX-5 on the lot! Salesman was Zach. He helped make it easy.

Great service until you get a set of keys (singular as they said they'd get me the second set and wound up paying $600 to get through Toyota once they confirmed they wouldn't get the key made after all). If you need any help after that (I.e. extending temporary plates per DMV recommendation), don't expect a return call or email. They are zero helpful at that point. Financing very pushy to sell every other thing when signing papers and will not care if you deny need.

If I could give more stars, I would. From the ordering of my new Volvo to the end of driving off the lot with my new car, the whole staff at Bob Penkhus was courteous, knowledgeable and patient with me. As many know, there are supply line delays. I needed to order my car and wait several months for its arrival. Mike Hepperle was so patient with me during the ordering process and helping me with good explanations of all the "bells and whistles " that could come with the car.

He kept me informed during the delivery process and did a good job of showing me the car's features once it arrived. Hugh Youself was very helpful during the financial portion of the purchase and friendly. Although I plan to keep my Volvo for many years, I would certainly use Bob Penkhus again.

Stefan Campbell is by far the best salesmen I've ever worked with while purchasing a vehicle. He answered every question I had and if he didn't know, he knew where to find them. He took time getting me situated and really showed pride in his work. 10/10 would recommend, he's got a customer for life now!

I was referred to Bob Penkhus by a friend. Stefan Campbell, my sales associate; was knowledge, layback, kind and understanding. He answered all my question and explained everything step by step for me. By far thee best buying experience I've ever had! Jordan worked with me in finances to get me a great rate with the warranty I wanted. 10/10 recommended these two men if your looking for a superb pressure free buying experience

My experience at Bob Penkhus Mazda at Powers was so much better than I was expecting. This was my first time at a car dealership and more than 10 years and while I knew this is a terrible time to buy a car, I couldn't wait any longer. Knowing what the market is like right now and that cars are just not available I neither would not be a whole lot of negotiation with the price of the vehicle.

But everyone I dealt with was a very nice they were never pushy, I never felt like they were trying to deceive me or get me to buy more than I wanted to buy. They answered all of my questions very patiently and I asked a lot. I love my Mazda! Thank you Daniel, Mike, and Franco, I appreciate you!

Definitely 5 stars. I bought a BMW here a couple weeks ago, after having a terrible experience at one of the big name dealerships. Julio was the salesman and 5 stars for him as well. The process was smooth, the finance guy Hugh was able to get me a 3.9% APR which is great and way less than what other dealerships were quoting me. I had my passenger door lock go out and was able to get in today expecting to pay my $100 deductible for the fix but they fixed it free of charge and Julio was also able to get me a loaner car so I could still go about my day. I highly recommend this place if you're buying a car and if you can get Julio you will have an amazing overall experience. Bob Penkhus 5 stars, Julio 6 Stars haha.

If you need a good salesperson at Bob Penkhus, go see Mike Hepperle. He went above and beyond to make a great deal for my Volvo. He identified a problem with the car I purchased before showing it to me. He got the service department to fix the issue before we signed the paperwork. I appreciated his honesty and integrity. I've used Bob Penkhus service department in the past for a different car for normal service, and they also were really good.

Positives and negatives I experienced from buying a car here: People are nice. Salesman was very friendly and enthusiastic about the cars he was selling. Really like the car I bought, and it was a decent deal Sale took way too long due to some printer issues. Need to get some reliable IT to prevent this kind of thing or have a solid backup in place.

The car I bought also had an issue that took two trips through the service department to resolve. Service was unable to find or re-create the problem on the first trip and called it a "one-off" situation. The problem came back on that same day. Had some difficulty getting somebody from service on the phone. Left messages over voicemail and with people from other departments with no callback. I finally ended up calling the parts department to walk over and find someone in service for me to talk to. Would be understandable if they were busy but they were not.

Lots of paperwork coupled with a " dealers handling fee" of almost $700. Apparently this fee covers the costs of filing fees and employees. Rather high in my humble opinion. Took much longer than expected with trying to buy a lease out plus like stated earlier.tons of paperwork. The company rep, Bryn, did a fine job. This is my 3rd new car purchase/lease in 9 years. Was expecting an easier transfer.

One of the best purchasing experiences I've ever had. I texted in. I came in promptly at 9. I was shown the Jeep I was interested in. J.R. the salesmen was amazing he was prompt, friendly and made me feel included in the whole process. I was explained everything step by step. Financing was quick Jordan explained all the coverage and warranties and made sure I was informed without taking all of my time and kept me in my budget.

Even the GM Sevan came out greeted me and welcomed me to the Penkhus Family. I have dreamed about owning a 2 door Jeep since I was little boy. Thank you Bob Penkhus Motor Company I will definitely buy more than one in the future.

I was attracted to a Volvo X60. I went to Bob Penkhus in Colorado Springs, on Motor City Drive. I was greeted by Bruce Leiva, and things couldn't have been better. Bruce handled my trade in, and car sales like he had been knowing me for years. I didn't feel pressured to buy, but after dealing with Bruce, I knew something was going to happen.

Everything is done methodical, so, it's not like you're buying a car, but like buying your favorite doughnut. I am so glad I purchased my car from Bob Penkhus, and will be in the future. Good place to do business!

On Saturday at around 9 am I was on the website and found a new car that I liked. I went to go forward with purchasing the car but the website would not take my trade. I received a call from Emily. She said that she would text me a list of things that if I would text her back she would give the info to her sales manager. I sent all the pics and info over at 10am that day.

I sent over the window sticker, miles and pics of my truck. She responded that my 2021 Ranger was great. Seven hours later I still have not received anything back from Emily or the dealership. At 5pm that day I responded with. I guess you are offering $0 for my trade. I know they are closed on Sunday but they had 10 hours to at least respond back to me. I feel like I do not matter to this dealership chain.

We loved working with Ben to purchase our Volvo XC90. It was an extremely easy process. We really appreciate the transparency and honesty Ben provided us. We know how to buy/lease cars. Ben asked us up front where we needed to be financially. We gave him our numbers (which were on point and reasonable with the carpocalypse). Ben had the finance department honor them with minimal back and forth.

He worked with us to learn the car. He went above and beyond in such a short time. I was originally looking at the Kia Telluride until they told me they would charge me $12k over MSRP. even if I custom ordered it. So. $57,000 for a KIA. For somewhere around that price, I now drive the safest car available to a family. Plus the XC90 has better technology than the Telluride. I'm a Volvo customer for life. I'm so in love with my car. Call and ask for Ben. You won't regret it!

These people have the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Avoid doing business with them at all cost! I bought a used vehicle, which was a huge mistake. After taking 6 hours in their dealership to do the deal, I finally got the truck I wanted. I had some simple questions after the sale, and have called them four times. THEY WILL NOT CALL ME BACK. I HATE THIS COMPANY

From the moment we test drove two different vehicles, David, our salesman, was awesome. Very knowledgeable young man and so much fun to do business with. I am still bitter about this place how they treat people and much they cost for repairs. That is just the start I would never buy another vw ever. You would have so many problems with your car for the price of them I think they make them to fail. Please pick another option then vw.

He was patient and friendly the entire time - truly an exemplary display of quality customer service. Being that it's seemingly impossible to get an email address for a manager, I'm forced to air my grievance on a Facebook page. Small backstory; I am an ASE certified technician at a reputable dealership in the metro area. 2 days ago on the 5th, my wife and I brought her car in for an oil leak. I told the writer that I perform regular oil changes with recommended parts because I have the means and space to do so.

Inside of 45 seconds of telling him what I've been noticing, I was told I was wrong and that I did something I shouldnt have during an oil change. Later, I get the invoice explaining what was performed. In short, it states a tecgnician diagnosed my concern and found no issues. I was charged for a filter and the 4 tenths labor for the filter change.

It also states oil was topped off and a vehicle inspection was completed. I was not charged for diag. My best guess is, the writer "diagnosed" the problem himself and it was given to a lube employee to change the filter and put some oil in it. We get home and I do some digging. The oil life and inspection monitors had been reset. I did not receive an oil change or a copy of the inspection per the lines on the invoice.

I was sure to take timestamped photos of the still dripping lower oil pan, odometer, invoice, garage floor and reset oil life/inspection monitors. I will include some of the many that are being forwarded to corporate. 10/10 would not recommend. Seems all they think about is CSI. Will be taking my business back to Mcdonald VW where we've had nothing but good experiences with past vehicles.

This dealership really goes above and beyond to help their customers when it comes to a vehicle sale or service and parts, I definitely know where I'll be taking my new Volvo for all my car needs and telling everyone where to go for a new vehicle!

These Crooks! Do not take your car to them. The mechanics are liars. After bringing my car in they tried to return it missing parts from the intake system and attempted to blame me and charge me to replace them. It is not worth the headache to deal with these guys. They can't seem to know what is going on and couldn't provide updates over the phone.

They wanted me to always come in to talk about how they found more problems. Take your car elsewhere, they will over charge and try to tell you that you need work that isn't required. Make sure you always get your old parts back. Do your homework and don't let them up sell you on false service work and flushes.
